New Street Fighter V costumes, stage, and music packs available September 26!

Sep 25, 2017 // Andy Wong

Summer may be over, but there’s plenty of ways to welcome in fall. From new school and Halloween costumes, to a majestic English Manor, check out the new content that will be available in Street Fighter V on September 26.

It’s back to school season and the start of a new academic year. Cammy, Menat, and Ed are prepared to walk the school grounds in their scholarly attire – hopefully, not looking for too much of a fight. Let these costumes remind you to always stay in school!

Cammy also has two additional costumes from her past that will be available for purchase. The Dolls Costume harkens back to her days as one of the brainwashed bodyguards for M. Bison, a point in time Cammy has battled with since she broke free from his control.

The Nostalgia Costume was Cammy’s alternate outfit from Street Fighter IV, and is now being brought over into Street Fighter V. Just in time for the cold weather to begin!

Chun-Li has three new costumes for all walks of life designed by Akiman. As an INTERPOL agent, Chun-Li often finds herself going undercover to take down Shadaloo.

When Chun-Li has time for a vacation, you may see her in this relaxing outfit. Don’t let the flip flops fool you, her lightning legs are still as deadly as ever.

Though she spends most of her time keeping the peace, even Chun-Li needs sleep to recover for the tough trials to come. Bring her sleepwear into battle to become your opponent’s worst nightmare.

The spookiest month of them all is upon us, which means more Halloween Costumes to bring in the fright for Dhalsim, M. Bison, Urien, Birdie, and F.A.N.G! We’ve got a mummy, a demon, a sibling doppelganger (for all you Gill fans), a butcher, and a mad scientist to make your opponent cower in fear.

2016 Halloween Costume Bundle – If you missed last year’s Halloween Costumes , they’re back again this year with the option to buy them all in one bundle! Last year’s costumes consisted of Alex, Cammy, Nash, Necalli, Juri, Ryu, and Vega. All of these can also be purchased individually. The Spooky Arena stage is included in the bundle, as well!

New Stage: English Manor – This castle from Street Fighter II  overlooks a sweeping landscape with the Northern Lights hovering up above. It’ll take all your willpower to not be distracted by the beauty of this picturesque stage. You can purchase the English Manor with 70,000 Fight Money or $3.99/ €3.99.

Background Music Packs – These packs will add a personal touch to every battle, especially since music can change how you approach each fight. If you’re feeling nostalgic, there’s a Street Fighter II version available!

You can pick up the new costumes on PlayStation 4 and Steam for $3.99/ €3.99 each starting on September 26.

As always, make sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest Street Fighter V news.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Gameplay Trailer Featuring Monster Hunter

Sep 21, 2017 // Andy Wong

As we revealed earlier, Monster Hunter will be joining Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite as part of the 2017 Character Pass! If you missed her gameplay trailer at Tokyo Game Show, watch it here!

A monster hunter from Val Habar, the nomadic desert town that fused with Wakanda. Monster hunters are experts at tracking and taking down monsters using weapons and armor forged from monster parts including scales and claws. Hunters typically go by their given name, but this legendary hunter simply goes by Monster Hunter. She has been appointed as Black Panther’s right hand, a new tradition established to create harmony in the newly-formed nation of Valkanda and strengthen bonds in the fight against Ultron Sigma.

Monster Hunter fights with an arsenal of different weapons true to the Monster Hunter series, including a bow, dual blades, and a great sword. Always adapting to the situation, she can power up using the Tartarus Stampede and Demolisher Demon Dance hyper combos, giving her additional properties on her dual blade attacks and vastly improving her mobility. In addition, when used as one of her special moves, her great sword contains infinite hits of armor, easily soaking up any attacks that come her way. For those questing for a versatile character who can shoot enemies from afar while dealing heavy blows up close, Monster Hunter is here to make that quest complete.

Purchase the 2017 Character Pass now to unlock Monster Hunter, Sigma, Black Panther, Winter Solider, Venom, and Black Widow when they become available later this year. We are hard at work on them and can’t wait to show them off when they are ready!

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC! Head to our official website for more information: marvelvscapcominfinite.com/

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite – Battle for the Stones

Sep 19, 2017 // Andy Wong

Face front, True Believer, and get ready to compete in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite – Battle for the Stones, an epic competition taking place this December!

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite – Battle for the Stones will see titanic forces collide as the seven EVO champions from the past and a new group of nine qualifiers fight in a competition unlike any you’ve witnessed before! As the name suggests, the Infinity Stones play a vital role in this clash against the EVO legends. On the road to the “Battle for the Stones,” there are six official Infinity Stone Tournaments all over the world that will each represent one of the Stones. Those who wield one of the Stones will gain a special tournament rule-bending power they can activate during the “Battle for the Stones” Finals in Anaheim, CA on December 9-10, 2017. Outside of these Infinity Stone Tournaments, there will also be three regional online qualifier tournaments (that do not feature Infinity Stones) for the EU, LATAM and NA regions, making the top 16.

Top 16 for the “Battle for the Stones” will comprise of:

  • Seven EVO champions
  • Six Infinity Stone bearers from Infinity Stone Tournaments around the world
  • Three online tournament winners

The winner of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite – Battle for the Stones will be rewarded with a special one-of-a-kind trophy that represents the Battle for the Stones!

As previously mentioned, Infinity Stones will grant actual abilities that can be used outside of the typical “in-game” competition to give players an advantage over their opponent! Each Infinity Stone power will be revealed at its corresponding Infinity Stone Tournament.  Be wary, for if you lose the fight with a Stone in hand, you’ll need to hand it over to the winner of the match and return to being a mere mortal.

With Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite releasing on September 19 th , we wanted to showcase the game with a special exhibition series that reflected the otherworldly and compelling elements that Marvel vs. Capcom is known for. Check out the Capcom Unity website and @capcomfighters on Twitter as we countdown the weeks to the “Battle for the Stones” with player profiles, detailed breakdowns of the rules, and explanations of each of the six Infinity Stone Powers that the Stone Bearers will be able to use at the “Battle for the Stone” Finals.

Join us as we celebrate the launch of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite with this one-time series that shows the world that RULES ARE NOT SET IN STONE!

Patrick Kulikowski: Kicking off this week’s Community Highlights is a truly magical Ace Attorney cosplay coming out of the Tracon 2017 convention in Tampere, Finland. Cosplayer @moemoefever nailed the energetic Trucy Wright’s look to a ‘T’! From the cape, the brooch, magician’s hat and even the baton – no detail was spared.

This serves as a solid reminder that you can check out Trucy’s debut all over again when Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney hits the 3DS eShop this November!

And to wrap things up, I have to throw some enormous kudos to @SeharJH for her fantastic fan art pieces for Breath of Fire IIand Breath of Fire IV! With BoFII we’ve got Ryu and his loyal doggo partner Bow having a heart-to-heart, which conjures up all kinds of nostalgic fuzzies within me. The BoFIV art is a humorous take on Ershin’s unique dashing ability, something Nina seems to be enjoying a lot more than her buddies Cray and Ryu.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite – Character Tutorials

Sep 12, 2017 // Andy Wong

As we approach the release of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite on September 19, we’re all suited up to provide you with tutorial videos for all 30 of our characters at launch. We hope these videos aid in assembling your team and choosing your Infinity Stone when it’s time for the battle to begin. Reporting in first for this Character Tutorials series are Iron Man, Captain America, Ryu, Captain Marvel, Morrigan, and Mega Man X.

Iron Man – Tony Stark flies in with enough firepower to deal with any team that chooses to face him. With moves like Unibeam, Smart Mine, and Proton Cannon to reach almost every corner of the screen, Iron Man is a great pick for new and veteran players alike. He may have trouble rushing down the enemy, but with a solid teammate to cover for him, he’ll have control of the fight in no time.

Captain America – Assemble a team with Steve Rogers if you enjoy having options for almost every situation. With a new move called Liberty Shock, which counters everything except throws, opponents will need to be extra cautious before attacking. Pair him up with characters that can follow up with his shield throws or help control the air.

Ryu – The World Warrior returns with all the special moves he’s known for. Whether it’s Hadoken, Shoryuken, or Tatsumaki Senpukyaku, Street Fighter players will feel right at home. Though a well-balanced character, he can be paired with others who can enhance his combo ability and control of the screen.

Captain Marvel – Making her Marvel vs. Capcom series debut, Carol Danvers flies in with a move set focusing heavily on her super strength and energy projection. Her Photon Absorber gives her super armor, allowing her to power through light attacks and single-hit projectiles. As a focused aerial fighter, characters with ground control or trap usage can pair well with Captain Marvel.

Morrigan – Ruling the skies, Morrigan Aensland returns to Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite with new clever tricks in her arsenal. With her signature Astral Vision Hyper Combo, her enemies will need to watch their backs before this succubus takes control of the screen. It’s not surprising the Soul Stone turns Morrigan into a chaotic force as its Infinity Storm turns a one-on-one fight into a three-on-one.

Mega Man X – With a wide range of projectiles available to him, X beams in for his long-awaited debut in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. He has projectiles that bounce off walls, cause a large amount of hit stun, and one that can beat out most other projectiles. While X is in the backline, he can be paired with more aggressive characters that can take a hit for him.

Stay tuned for more character tutorial videos coming all the way up until launch!
