Paging all Capcom fa– hang on… “paging” sounds a bit old-school… let’s try this again:
@everyone Exciting news! The official Capcom server on Discord is now open!
Keep reading for more details and an invite link.
Starting today, we’re taking yet another step to make it easier for you to get Capcom news, updates, activities, and more delivered to a place a lot of you already spend a great deal of time on a daily basis: Discord.
This official server is just the start—we’ll be fine-tuning and expanding our Discord presence as we go along—but I wanted to give you two quick notes on how it’s set up for now:
First, the server is comprised of mostly read-only channels; to start, the primary focus is to share news and updates with you. Some of the channels have been set up so you can hit the “Follow” button and get the news delivered right to your own server. Neat!
Second, we’re also working closely with Discord and existing community servers on Discord to help you find like-minded Capcom fans to chat and play games with. Stay tuned for updates on this under the #capcom-community-servers channel.
In the meantime, please take a look and join our server, then keep an eye on the #server-updates and #capcom-news channels for the latest happenings!

Wishing to educate the world on the long-term benefits of a relaxing soak in the tub, E. Honda is re-opening his popular bathhouse – Honda Sento. But as steadfast as his devotion is to all things hot and steamy, his number one passion will always be sumo wrestling. In this respect, Honda-san’s transition to SFV: AE is comprehensive. His Hundred Hand Slap still requires a precise pianoing of punch presses (this time, four rather than five) to let loose with the open palm assault. His Sumo Headbutt still hits like a speeding bullet train, while being susceptible to projectile pressure. And his Oicho Throw still makes him dangerous up-close. But far from a relic of the past, Honda’s formidable V-Skill and V-Triggers take his iconic fundamentals to the next level.
[V-Skill – Neko Damashi]
Honda’s V-Skill is a heavy-handed clap that negates single-hit projectiles. It can cancel into his special moves on block and hit. V-Skill into light Hundred Hand Slap, for instance, is a true block string and leaves Honda at frame advantage.
[V-Trigger 1 – Onigawara]
His V-Trigger unlocks a more potent version of the Sumo Headbutt, called Oni-Daikaku. It can combo from any normal attack, has one hit of armor on start-up and can cancel into a second headbutt called Oni-Muso. Oni-Daikaku can also be used to guard crush the opponent on a full charge.
[V-Trigger 2 – Tajikarao]
Honda’s V-Trigger 2 unlocks a running command grab with one hit of armor. The grab can hit raw or as part of a combo, with Honda slamming the opponent into the nearest corner, gaining frame advantage and removing the opponent’s ability to perform a back recovery. This makes it a particularly strong tool for oki.
Lucia
Having received a tip off from Haggar about a possible plot to take out Mayor Cody, Officer Morgan hits the streets of Metro City in search of answers. Her Gun Smoke command run lets her close the distance quickly with one of four follow-ups – the Rough Chase shoulder barge, Tornado Spinner juggle kicks, Cyclone Spinner anti-air and the Braking dead halt. She also has access to the Dragon Punch-style Hurricane Spinner, the Fire Spinner spinning back kick and flaming projectiles with unconventional flightpaths courtesy of Flipper Shot. All these specials are unsafe on-block unless timed meaty or spaced correctly, but thanks to her strong V-Triggers and a cancellable low forward that hits from afar, she has many ways to combo into them.
[V-Skill – Tap-Kick]
Lucia’s V-Skill is a multi-hitting kick that can be cancelled from most of her normal attacks and leaves her at advantage on hit. You just need to be mindful that it’s very unsafe on block.
[V-Trigger 1 – Burning Fight]
Her V-Trigger 1 enhances all her kick-based special moves, and when combined with her EX command run, can lead to some flashy and highly damaging combos. It also causes her V-Skill to score a knockdown on the final hit, leading to more oki opportunities.
[V-Trigger 2 – Weapon Fury]
Lucia’s V-Trigger 2 equips her trusty baton and unlocks Tactical Weapon. This move can be cancelled from all her normal attacks, is safe on block and can combo into all her special moves. Suffice to say, it’s tailor made for frame traps and extending combos.
Poison
Feeling down in the dumps after parting ways with her former partner-in-crime, Poison returns to Metro City in search of a new headliner for the wrestling federation. She’s received a whip upgrade compared to the short-range slapper she sported in Ultra Street Fighter 4 – this time she’s wielding a looping lasher with lasso-like range. Gone are the rekkas and chargeable projectiles, which are replaced by a refreshing mix of far-reaching normals that are easily buffered into her high kicking and whip whirling specials. And we haven’t even detailed her V-Skill and V-Triggers yet!
[V-Skill – Perfume Swing]
Poison’s V-Skill is a swinging strike that can travel one of two distances. It can be cancelled from some of her normal attacks and allows for a follow-up strike. It can also travel over most projectiles if spaced correctly.
[V-Trigger 1 – Poison Cocktail]
Her V-Trigger 1 gives her access to Molotov cocktails. These can be thrown either straight up or ahead and cause steady chip damage by setting the ground on fire. They’re useful for setups and combo extensions.
[V-Trigger 2 – Poison Glamor]
Poison’s V-Trigger 2 unlocks two commands grabs – Toxic Hold and Toxic Bind. The former does more stun and damage, but has limited range. The latter can hit from over half a screen away, but has more start-up and recovery frames. Both can be used mid-combo.
“Honda Sento” Bathhouse Stage
This stage should be instantly familiar to anyone who played Street Fighter II in the 90s. “Honda Sento” is a modern remake of E. Honda’s iconic bathhouse stage from Street Fighter II: The World Warrior. Blue tiled flooring, individual showers and a sumo-sized onsen – filled to the brim with piping hot water from a nearby hot spring. What better place to kick back and relax with a towel on your head after a hard day of fighting in the streets. The new “Honda Sento” stage can be yours on August 4 th for MSRP $3.99 / €3.99 / £3.29 or 70,000 Fight Money.

His opponents may cry when Cody goes to battle in this Vergil costume for SFV: AE. This Devil May Cry inspired costume for Cody and accompanying Vergil, Dante and Nero battle music will be available in Extra Battle mode from August 30 th through September 27 th.
Fighting Chance: M. Bison
Backed up by the Psycho Drive in the Street Fighter Alpha series, M. Bison was not only at the peak of his power, but he also sported one of his most dominant looks. This menacing outfit returns to SFV: AE on August 4 th in Fighting Chance!
This is a sumo-sized update, so go hit the streets and enjoy all of this new content in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition !
We loved this piece for how well it represents the franchise as a whole, tying together each lawyer of the Wright Law Offic—er, Wright Anything Agency with the characters that help define their individual journeys. The eccentric personality of each character shines through, with small nods to the games like Apollo looking through his bracelet, Athena’s Mood Matrix, and Pearl star struck by Mystic Mia.
This art stood out to us for how well it communicates the characters and their relation to each other in the original three games that marked the rise of Phoenix. You could mistake it for an ending screen from one of the games! The expressions really pop, too – this might be the happiest we’ve seen Gumshoe… ever! You can just imagine Phoenix hanging this up in his office and taking a trip down memory road each time he looks at it.
This wonderful rendition of the Prink Princess really stood out to our judge’s panel! Sal Manella would be proud of this dazzling character coming to life. You can clearly see the inspiration that Maya’s appearance brought to the overall design, and the careful details in the cherry blossom print make the entire costume feel very grounded and true-to-life while still capturing the essence of the Warrior of Little Olde Tokyo.
Spirit of Justice marks the return of an older, wiser, and just a tiny bit more serious Maya. We really enjoyed how this cosplay accurately captures Maya’s appearance in SoJ , with lots of care taken to re-create her outfit down to some of the smallest details on her gloves, and even the parting of her hair. You can really see her asking if you, too, have begun to walk the path of the Holy Mother… or maybe she’s just asking you to pick up a burger.
We were blown away by this one-person band, even more so that the artist combines multiple themes from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney games into a single one-minute medley. Learning and playing multiple instruments is no simple task, and both the arrangement and the music were top-notch. This took some serious skills!
This one-person skit nails what makes the Ace Attorney games fun, and even includes some Apollo and Judge cosplay to bring you into the courtroom. You get the entire roller coaster ride of an AA case in the span of one minute, complete with the Judge’s typical frustrations, Apollo’s typical reactions, and more. An endearing video that we enjoyed for how sincere and light-hearted it is.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
We have a few honorable mentions we’d like to present to the audience as well, in no particular order:

As mentioned above, we’ll also have a cuddly, fluffy Palico on display for photo ops, so don’t miss your chance to snap a shot with an adventure-ready felyne that will join you on your quests in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne!
If you’re at the show this year, be sure to swing by the Capcom booth (#215, Hall A). See you in San Diego!
Last month we dropped a bunch of cool Iceborne news, but also left you with some hints and teasers of what’s to come… now it’s time to pull back the curtains (or slash them in half) with some hot details on returning fan-favorite Glavenus, new subspecies Fulgur Anjanath and Ebony Odogaron, new and improved Gathering Hub features, the Squad Card system, and more. First, let’s take a look at the latest trailer that’s hot off the presses:
Okay, so I know you’re screaming at that Glavenus turf war—I wasn’t expecting anything like that either!—but we actually have a lot more to cover today, so take a deep breath and get ready for the spicy details.
I’ll leave you in the more than capable hands of developers Ryozo Tsujimoto, Kaname Fujioka and Daisuke Ichihara for a full Developer Diary video. If you’re looking for a quick digest on the new info, just check the list below the video.
New and improved Gathering Hub – the new hub of Seliana streamlines the flow of meeting up with other players and tending to all your pre-hunt necessities by adding quick access to facilities like the Smithy, Resource Center, Botanical Research Center, and Argosy.
Squad Cards and Sub-Leaders – new Squad functionality has been added to easily invite your friends and manage Squad members.
Customizing your new room – now you can change up furniture, various décor items, and even the wall texture of “Your Room” for a more personal touch! And… we’re planning to add a feature that allows you to invite friends to your room, in a post-launch update.
Meet the monsters – you’ll really want to watch the video for this one. The development team put a lot of thought into bringing back Glavenus as faithfully as possible, keeping its sword-like tail while giving it some new twists. They also show off extended gameplay of two newly confirmed subspecies—monster species that have evolved in different ways to adapt to new circumstances, often times gaining new elemental affinities and behavior tendencies. On the menu today, we have the electrifying Fulgur Anjanath and the more vicious than ever Ebony Odogaron!
As Ryozo-san mentioned in the video, we’ll have more info to share in August, but if you’re itching for more Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, be sure to come to San Diego Comic Con next week to play our demo and attend our Monster Hunter panel for more behind-the-scenes info! Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will release globally on PS4 and Xbox One on September 6, with a PC version coming this winter.
Training Area – Before you head out on a hunt, visit the Training Area to practice some of the new combat features we’ve added in Iceborne (more info ahead). You can talk to the Housekeeper to change up the objects in the Training Area and practice your new Clutch Claw moves too!
3 Quests x 3 Difficulties – As you may know, you’ll get to take on three separate quests in this Beta: Great Jagras (beginner), Banbaro (intermediate), and Tigrex (advanced). But did you know… there are also 3 separate difficulty settings? These depend on your party formation, and scale whether you’re hunting solo, as a pair, or as a group of 3 or 4 hunters. In Monster Hunter: World, I played a great deal of quests in a pair, so I really welcome this change. If you try out a 2-player hunt, let us know how you liked it!
New Combat Options – Between the addition of the Clutch Claw, and the new moves and tweaks bestowed upon all 14 weapon types, the amount of strategies and possibilities have increased tremendously. Pick up your favorite weapon, or try a new one, and get ready for fresh new combos and tactics.
Raider Rides – In Monster Hunter: World, your Palico could learn how to talk to talk to certain native creatures, like Jagras, and get them to join you in battle. In Iceborne , YOU also get to practice some monster-speak and earn some sweet rides across each map! These little fellas will take you around, following monsters’ tracks or you can pin a destination on the map, sit back, take a Hot Drink and enjoy the ride.
That about sums it up for this round. If you want a few more nuggets of wisdom, check out the 8 Cool Things You Can Do in the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Beta for PS4 blog post on the PlayStation Blog. Otherwise, enjoy the Beta (live until 3am PDT / 6am EDT on July 1 st ) and let us know what you think of the new features!
Have you dreamed of putting on your best blue suit and taking that first step behind the defense’s bench? When a creative mood strikes you, do you think of courtroom sketches? Have you ever wanted to make a dramatic re-creation for the court? Good news, because court is now in session – we’re kicking off the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy “Wright Anything” Competition for fans throughout the Americas in celebration of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy! Read on for how you can enter and the prizes you can win – including some unique prizes you can’t get anywhere else!
If it pleases the court, we’ll tell you how to enter first! We’re looking for your best and most creative representation of the mainline Ace Attorney games, divided into three categories: Artwork, Cosplay, and Video. You only get one entry, so pick one of the below that suits your skills the best:
Artwork – A digital or traditional drawing, illustration, painting, sculpture, 3D model, or a similar technique. Draw your favorite character, come up with a new scene featuring Wright and Co., create a one-page comic; whatever gets your pencil, pen, or other tools of the trade moving!
Cosplay – Channel your inner spirit medium or dress like your favorite prosecutor, defense attorney, assistant, witness, or… Moe the Clown? Anything goes as long as it’s you!
Video – Put on a play, give us a dramatic reading of your favorite ladder vs. stepladder argument, sing a song, saddle someone with unnecessary feelings, or whatever else you can get under 60 seconds!
Once you’re done with your artwork, cosplay photo(s), or video, post it to your Twitter account with the hashtag “#AATWrightAnything” to enter. That’s it! Be sure your account is visible to the public so we can see it, too. A panel of Capcom judges will be picking our favorites based on what we think are the most fun and creative entries, so give it everything you’ve got! For additional info on how to enter, please refer to the competition rules. Please note that this competition is only available to residents of North, Central, and South America.
A couple of notes: For artwork and video, if your entry has been entered into another contest or posted somewhere else, it may be disqualified. You’ll need to create something new for this contest! For cosplay, we only require new pictures that haven’t been uploaded or displayed elsewhere before the contest – we won’t ask you to make a brand-new costume.
When we say “mainline” games, we’re talking about Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Justice for All, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Trials and Tribulations, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice. Entries from other games are appreciated, but are outside the scope of this contest and may be disqualified.
So now that you know how to enter, you probably want to know what you can win, right? Glad you asked! We have some very special prizes! We’ll be selecting both three Grand Prize winners and three Runner-up Prize winners, with one Grand Prize winner and one Runner-up Prize winner for each category above (Artwork, Cosplay, and Video).
Grand Prize: A shikishi (Japanese signature board) signed by Shu Takumi and a Gyakuten Saiban Orchestra Concert 2019 photo frame! These photo frames are typically only available by attending the concert in person in Japan. Perfect as part of a display or for displaying a photograph of your own!
Runner-up Prize: A shikishi (Japanese signature board) signed by Shu Takumi, and a prize pack including items from the Ace Attorney anime, including a randomly selected blind box keychain and either a hand towel or a mug, chosen at random.
Mr. Takumi was kind enough to not only provide his signature, but also include an illustration of Phoenix himself – a perfect way to celebrate Phoenix’s early adventures by the person who made it all come together. Huh… that artwork kind of reminds you of a certain calling card, doesn’t it?
The contest starts today, Friday, June 21st and ends on Friday, July 5th at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. Greenhorn attorneys, seasoned veterans, and everyone in between are all welcome to enter and show their stuff, and we can’t wait to see what you all come up with! We’ll have a follow-up blog to showcase the winners in the future after they’ve been selected, so keep an eye out for what’s to come! You can view the full contest rules at this link, so please be sure to read over all the specifics before entering. Best of luck, and we’ll see you on the stand!

In addition to her new royal garbs, Menat’s crystal ball also gets a makeover by turning into Super-8, Devilotte’s octopus-shaped robot that can be controlled by the “the real queen of evil” herself.
Menat can transform into Devilotte Princess soon, as this new costume and accompanying soundtrack appear in Extra Battle mode from July 5th through August 2nd.
IBUKI EXTRA BATTLE (AKANE YAGYU)

Ibuki must represent this costume well, as she has a lot to live up to and fight for when she enters a battle dressed as Akane.
