After seeing the new screens and information about 2015’s enhanced version of Resident Evil, I took the time to play through the 2002 version (or more specifically, its Wii port) and grab some screenshots that lined up with the screens we posted alongside the announcement. As you might expect, the new version looks pretttty nice!
In case your browser acts up, some instructions: Click/hold on the green bar and then use the mouse to scrub left and right to see the comparison. You can also click the text on either lower side to quickly scroll from old to new and back again.
Note: The 2015 RE screens are from a game that’s still in development. The Wii screens were taken through component cables to provide the most typical result. I then shrank the 2015 screens down a tad so they were the same size as the lower-res Wii screens.

First revealed in the leadup to San Diego Comic-Con, our replica Mega Man helmet is now on the Capcom Store awaiting pre-orders! We’re able to take a limited number and plan to ship ’em in November!

As with the MM25 statue, we’re only able to keep the pre-orders live for a few weeks. Once we hit our limit, we gotta cut ’em off and start prepping these for their November ship date. But, what was once a Con-only item can now be yours !
Following successful Capcom Pro Tour ranking events at other trade shows such as PAX East, and San Diego Comic-Con, we are happy to announce that PAX Prime will be the next show to host an official CPT tournament! The qualifiying rounds will be a little more intense this time around, with them being single elimination, but there will quite a few chances. Continue on for more details. Similar to previous trade show events, qualifiers will be held throughout the show with the top two placers for each moving on to the top 16 finals on Sunday. With a $3000 prize pool and CPT ranking points on the line, you can be sure that everyone will be bringing their A game. Qualifiers take place at the Capcom booth (#3217) and the top 16 finals will take place at the Twitch booth, which is right next to the Capcom booth. Sign ups will be taken at the Capcom booth everyday from 10am on a first come-first serve basis, so be sure to show up early to get your name on the list! The winner of each qualifier will move on to Sunday in Winner’s bracket, while the runner-ups will move on to Sunday in Loser’s bracket. Tournament Schedule (All times PDT): 8/29 Friday @ Capcom Booth 8/30 Saturday @ Capcom Booth 8/31 Sunday @ Twitch Booth The entire top 16 will be streamed via Capcom Fighters on Twitch , so if you can’t make the show in person then be sure to tune in!

It’s been a while since we had a PS1 Classic land on PSN ( Darkstalkers 3, y’know! ), but today we’ve got news of not one, but TWO genuine classics that’ll hit the North American store early next month!

If the recent announcement of Resident Evil coming to new platforms next year got you in the mood for even more survival horror, our pals at IGN have assembled a list of their 10 favorite games in the genre. Naturally the ’02 Resident Evil REmake is on the list, but fans of conserving ammo and avoiding enemies should take a look at the full article.
Unsurprisingly, they double dip with Resident Evil and put RE2 on the list as well. Whaddya think of that – are REmake and RE2 the scariest / moodiest entries in the series? And c’mon, I wouldn’t call RE2’s voice acting “terrible,” it’s more like a challenging wine that gets better with age 😛

If you happen to be in the general vicinity of San Mateo, California, you’ll do yourself well to check out the Japan Expo , going on today through Sunday, August 24th. The expo is a weekend-long showcase of Japanese culture, from the traditional to the freaky-deaky modern.
PLUS, as an added incentive, hailed Capcom artist Daigo Ikeno will be there as a special guest, doing a live drawing session as well as signing sessions! Even if you don’t know this name, you’ve almost definitely seen his incredible artwork and character designs in the likes of Onimusha, Devil May Cry 3, and Street Fighter II: 3rd Strike. More recently, he’s acted as Art Director for Street Fighter IV and Dragon’s Dogma. This is a terrific opportunity not to be missed.
