Awesome Viewtiful Joe statue coming soon from First 4 Figures

Mar 03, 2015 // Yuri Araujo

If you’re a big fan of Viewtiful Joe and are looking for a v iewtiful way to display your passion for this character, then look no further than First 4 Figures ‘s high-end – and extremely limited – statue!

This premium statue comes out later this year for the SRP of $209.99, but a closer look at all their photos will Slow Down time as they convey the awesome quality level of the statue itself. And considering our buddy Joe hasn’t had a collectible item like this before, I wouldn’t dare wait and risk missing the opportunity.

Some additional neat features include LED lights on his eyes and helmet jewel (and they fade out when turned off) and movie reel stand:

Remember: quantities are extremely limited, so you’d better act on  Mach Speed and guarantee yours before they run out!

And hey, in the statue’s description, they actually say this is the first of their  Capcom All Stars series… can’t wait to see who’s next!

Potential EP1 spoilers in here so proceed at yer own risk!

Meanwhile, Barry and Natalia arrive on the island in search of the duo but realize… well, that Moira’s call was months ago and Natalia seems to think she’s already dead. That brings us to Episode 2, which continues both parties’ adventure through the Overseer’s deadly island complex.

Claire and Moira will meet other survivors, while Barry and Natalia will make a profound discovery. Play Episode 2 to see for yourself!

Raid Mode rundown – Episode 2 characters

Mar 03, 2015 // Minish Capcom

Last week we revealed Jill Valentine as one of the surprise cameo characters for RER2’s expansive Raid Mode; today another classic RE hero joins the fray, plus some Terra Save characters you’ll meet while playing Revelations 2 Episode 2.

When you obtain Episode 2, you’ll be able to play as or unlock the following characters:

Pedro

Gabe

Leon

This week’s returning character is Leon S Kennedy, sporting his slick RE6 attire. While he won’t have to deal with a global C Virus dilemma, he will have to scrape through numerous, increasingly difficult Raid Mode maps.

And a quick note to those buying the Throwback Map Pack – these maps count as “Gauntlet IX,” so after you’ve downloaded the map pack, open up Raid Mode and scroll to the bottom of your available gauntlets. The Throwback stages should appear as Gauntlet IX near the bottom of the list.

Episode 2 kicks off this week, with Episodes 3 and 4 to come in March!

Rare Japanese DmC song downloadable here

Mar 02, 2015 // GregaMan

Many moons ago, we received an inquiry on the DmC forum asking for information on the song used in a Japanese trailer for DmC. Though intended primarily for Japan’s audience, the trailer and the song captured a great deal of attention overseas, though info regarding the tune was evidently scarce.

I’m sorry to say that the forum inquiry went by unnoticed by staff here until quite recently, when DmC: Definitive Edition Producer/good samaritan Rey Jimenez stumbled upon it and did some digging. Thanks to him, I am now able to not only tell you about the song, but also give it to you as a free download, complete with lyrics!

DOWNLOAD

The song, entitled “The Roar Within,”   was composed by veteran Capcom musicman Tetsuya Shibata, who worked extensively as a composer on the original  Devil May Cry  series, with lyrics by Donna Burke, who is recently notable for her contributions to  Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.  Amazingly, the song was composed exclusively for DmC’s TGS 2011 trailer, and has appeared nowhere else since.

Donna Burke

Shibata-san now has his own company, Unique Note , but retains a relationship with Capcom, as evidenced by “The Roar Within.”

T etsuya Shibata

And there you have it. Apologies for the extremely long wait, but I’m very happy to now be able to bring you this info as well as the song itself. Big thanks to Rey Jimenez for facilitating this, the Japan staff for sending over the info and song, and the curious fans for continually pestering us about this!

New Dead Rising movie footage helps keep the hunger in check

Mar 02, 2015 // GregaMan

If January’s teaser trailer for the upcoming live action Dead Rising flick,  Dead Rising: Watchtower  left you hungry and shambling for more like the proverbial undead, you’ll definitely want to check out the latest new footage, brought to us courtesy of Fangoria .

Quoth Fangoria:

While most horror fans are understandably skeptical of video game adaptations within the genre, the first trailer for DEAD RISING: WATCHTOWER has definitely helped to silence skeptics.

[…]

As you can tell from the above clip, WATCHTOWER doesn’t seem to be as grievously dour as THE WALKING DEAD; instead, the film looks to be capturing the panic-filled atmosphere and the fun bloodshed of the game in proper form.”

Phew, that’s a relief, amirite??

DR: Watchtower  promises to be a fun-filled gorefest refreshingly faithful to its source material when it launches as a Crackle exclusive on March 27th. Can’t wait!

Resident Evil Revelations 2 kicks off today with Episode 1

Feb 25, 2015 // Minish Capcom

Beginning today and through tomorrow (Feb 25), Resident Evil Revelations 2 arrives for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. The dramatic tale begins with Episode 1, which sets up Claire Redfield and Moira Burton as two heroines trapped in a demented prison, with Barry Burton and Natalia Korda attempting to save them.

Naturally, the first episode spends time setting things up, but once the cliffhanger hits you’ll want to come back next week (and each week through March 17) to see what happens…

Episode 1 also comes with your first taste of Raid Mode, so be sure to check that out as well – there’s gonna be all kinds of characters to play as, y’know 🙂

If you didn’t pre-order, you can buy Episode 1 for just $5.99 on any of the systems mentioned above; from there you can either continue to buy individual episodes for $5.99 each, or grab the Season Pass for $19.99 and grab Episodes 2~4, plus Extra Episodes 1-2 and Hunk for Raid Mode.

If you’d prefer to play it all on a disc, one (on PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360) will release on March 17 alongside Episode 4 and the two bonus episodes. All additional in-game content obtained through pre-ordering will be available for purchase as separate downloads.

For example, Hunk and Wesker are included on the disc as Raid Mode playables, but you can buy them today for $2.49 apiece. Same goes for the four extra costumes for Claire, Barry, Moira and Natalia.

Revelations 2 continues next week!

Announcing the Return of Nash and the Street Fighter V Online Beta Program

Feb 24, 2015 // ComboFiend

Hey everyone!

We are happy to announce two huge pieces of news for the upcoming Street Fighter V… the return of Nash, and the online beta program!

Charlie Nash has been a fan favorite character in the Street Fighter series for years and finally makes his comeback in Street Fighter V, although noticeably a little… different. For those who are unfamiliar with him, continue on for a quick history lesson.

First mentioned in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior (1991) by Guile during his quest for revenge; Nash was a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and one of Guile’s best friends. Although it was hinted that M.Bison was involved in Charlie’s disappearance in the past, it was never really fully explained…

…Until the Street Fighter Alpha series that is. In Street Fighter Alpha II (1996) we see firsthand that a helicopter controlled by M.Bison’s forces make quick work of Nash as M.Bison gets away. Initially presumed to be dead by both friends and foes alike, Nash’s return shows that his story is far from over.

While the mysteries surrounding his return will become clear later on, for now we’re pleased to announce that the originator of the Sonic Boom is back with quite a few new tricks that you can see in the photos below.

Nash takes to the air and comes down toward the opponents with a sharp flip kick.

Nash grabs the opponent and slams them to the ground before infusing their face with more force than he uses to throw a sonic boom.

Nash slices through the air with a sharp kick that knocks the opponent away!

What is Nash’s goal in SFV? You will have to wait and see.

The second piece of news is perhaps the most exciting of all. Also announced today, we will be performing the largest and most ambitious online beta program in franchise history with Street Fighter V on PS4 and PC!  These tests will be essential to collect your feedback and to ensure that Street Fighter V is the best iteration yet.  In North America , players who pre-order the game will automatically be enrolled into the beta program.

More details, including timing on the beta program will be revealed in the future so stay tuned for updates. Until then, SONIC BOOM!
