Next time on RE Revelations 2 – Episode 4 teaser

Mar 12, 2015 // Minish Capcom

The end is in sight! Revelations 2 wraps up next week with Episode 4, the climactic final chapter in Claire and Co’s deadly trek through the Overseer’s island. Those who’ve already finished Episode 3 have seen the in-game teaser for EP4, but if you want to check it again, just take a look!

That’s clearly Natalia, but what’s going on here?

Barry will have to brave a dark, poisonous dungeon before the saga concludes

Wait… a mansion? What’s that about?

And those who’ve been playing know who this is, but what’s she up to? We’ll find out very soon…

Episode 4 launches in North America starting 3/17, with EU following on Wednesday 3/18. The retail disc (which includes EP1~4 and the two bonus episodes) also arrives on 3/17 NA / 3/20 EU, making next week a big one for Revelations 2.

Praise for DmC: Definitive Edition abounds

Mar 10, 2015 // GregaMan

Okay, personal opinion: the culture of applying a numerical value to an experience has never much resonated with me. The more I think about it, the less I know what the numbers are supposed to mean.

That’s why I encourage you to actually read the content of the following reviews, and not just complacently accept that DmC: DefinitiveEdition is currently sitting at an 86 on MetaCritic with more than ten 90+ scores and even a perfect 100 out of 100.

At the end of the day, only we can decide what we want out of our entertainment and what works deliver on our personal needs. But it’s sure nice to know that people who don’t even work for Capcom have great things to say about DmC:DE. 😉

Now without further ado, here are just some of the swimming reviews out there today:

Slant Magazine – 100/100
“Thankfully, the people at Ninja Theory aren’t cynics. The Definitive Edition is nothing short of digital worship. The graphics have been given a serious jolt. Environments and characters teem with detail and color at an unwavering 60 frames a second. The visual feast would’ve made the game worth the second purchase alone, but the Definitive Edition’s real show of love and respect has gone toward the hardcore.”

God is a Geek – 95/100
“If you didn’t buy DmC when it was first released, you can rectify your mistake. Buy this game, and let’s pray to God that Capcom get Ninja Theory working on a sequel, lest DmC go down in history as the greatest game never to get a deserved follow up. What a game: absolutely phenomenal.”

Gaming Age – 91/100
“It’s a clear improvement over a game that was already pretty damn good, and it offers up enough in the way of changes and additional modes to make it worth a second, third, or even fourth playthrough.”

PlayStation Universe – 90/100
“Ninja Theory has crafted not only a great Devil May Cry but a great action title. With so many additions and improvements this Definitive Edition is one of the best re-releases to date.”

Gamespot – 9/10
“DmC in its Definitive Edition form isn’t just a lick of paint and a technical upgrade. It’s a hardcore twist on already impressive game, making the hack ‘n’ slash action more difficult, but also more compelling than before.”

Game Informer – 9/10
“No game is perfect. Even when we play the best ones, we find things that we wish the developer had done differently. Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition is a rare case where the developer goes back and fixes those things, big and small. Whether you’re a newcomer or a devoted fan, this is a remaster done right.”

IGN – 8.9/10
“The sharper visuals, smooth 60-fps gameplay, and other features and enhancements gave me plenty of reasons to be happy about coming back, and to recommend that you pick it up for the first time.”

Jimquisition – 8.5/10
“…DmC is a beautiful, bold, and supremely enjoyable videogame in its own right. It deserves to be praised.

That’s what I said back then, and I’m sticking with it.”

Got a great Capcom gameplay clip? Email us!

Mar 04, 2015 // GregaMan

Here on Capcom Unity, the team and I have been whipping up an experimental new biweekly video feature which will recap recent Capcom news, as well as highlight impressive, informative, fun, and/or hilarious gameplay videos captured by Capcom’s awesome fans.

We feel Capcom’s games, many of which have a prominent exhibitionist element (fighting games, Devil May Cry) as well as a prominent community element (Monster Hunter, Lost Planet, fighting games again), are perfect for this type of recurring feature.

With that said, if you’ve captured a clip of something cool, crazy, interesting, or funny in a Capcom game (old or recent!) and you’d like to be featured on the show, please send an email to  recap@capcom.com  with the following:

-A link to the video–preferably YouTube or Twitch. 720p or 1080p also highly  preferred when possible.
-Your name or nickname (however you want us to credit you).
-A description of why you feel the video is noteworthy, including any relevant timestamps.

Don’t forget that the new-gen consoles let you capture and upload gameplay footage with just a few button-presses, but footage from other consoles is of course welcome!

And that’s the rundown. Can’t wait to see what you guys show us!
