Announcing Monster Hunter Freedom Unite for iOS with a super informative trailer

Jun 05, 2014 // Yuri Araujo

Get in touch with your old-school hunter in Monster Hunter Freedom Unite for iOS !

Did you know Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is turning 5 years old this year? And what a phenomenal game that was. It was the first to introduce an AI controlled Felyne partner to make the single-player quests a little more manageable, for example. It was also one of the biggest hits in Japan!

Proving the point that it was (is!) such a great game, you can check our streaming archives and see that we were having a blast hunting monsters in MHFU a couple of weeks ago. And now, we’re bringing that experience to the iPhone, iPad and iPod with crisp HD graphics and built-in online multiplayer over wi-fi connections! On top of that, we’re also providing MFi controller support!

Check out the trailer that explains EVERYTHING:

And here are some HD screens too…

See how big and crisp everything looks? You’ll be able to get this game in just a little while, and it will be a great title to keep you busy until MH4U gets here. Also keep an eye on our E3 live stream schedule to catch some live gameplay of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite for iOS next week!

Dead Rising 3 coming to PC this summer

Jun 05, 2014 // GregaMan

Yes friends, the wacky, open-world, million-selling zombie slay-fest known as Dead Rising 3 is indeed coming to PC! If you’ve got a PC that’s up to spec and some–wait for it– steam to blow off, you can look forward to slaughtering thousands upon thousands of zombies this summer.

Massive info and asset dump after the jump, including one of the most delightful game trailers of all time.

↑ Featuring the tune “After Dark” by Hieroglyphics. I hope you guys are as tickled as I am right now.

As you may or may not know by now, Dead Rising 3 is set in the massive, open city of Los Perdidos, ten years after the events of Dead Rising 2. Zombies are more numerous than they were back in Fortune City–like, ridiculously numerous–and even have more intelligent AI.

You’ll have to get pretty creative to survive this zombie apocalypse. Luckily, combo weapons are back and crazier than ever.

Meanwhile, the game stars Nick Ramos, a highly resourceful auto mechanic. Get him behind the wheel and he’s a force to be reckoned with.

He can even create his own “Combo Vehicles” specially designed for dispatching zombies in hilariously efficient ways.

In fact…I’m pretty sure he’s got this.

The game will of course include full Steam platform support with Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Trading Cards, global leaderboards, and controller support. You can run it in high resolution on your fancy PC display, and yup, you can still play online coop with your best bud!

The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is three great games in one

Jun 05, 2014 // GregaMan

I’m delighted this morning to deliver some great pre-E3 news for Ace Attorney fans! Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, featuring the first three games in the beloved courtroom action series, will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS eShop this winter.

Cool things about this product:

-It includes three games in one!

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Justice for All
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Trials and Tribulations

-It has redrawn, high-resolution graphics!

-3D support for the 3DS!

-A motley cast of beloved characters – Phoenix Wright, the Fey clan, Miles Edgeworth, Godot…the whole gang’s here.

-Includes both the English and Japanese versions of each game!

-It’s a video game series where you’re a lawyer and you fight people with logic, rhetoric, and thorough investigation, rather than just shooting everyone in the face. It’s good for you!

Dustforce Gamma map pack available now

Jun 04, 2014 // Yuri Araujo

Even more impossibly challenging levels are now available for Dustforce!

I was just trying out the Gamma map pack today and some of the  require you to clean all the dust or you’ll fail… not becuase they added that arbitrary stipulation, but because if you don’t hit every spot, you fall on deadly spikes!

So if you’re up for that kind of challenge, first of all get the game already, then download the additional map packs! All 3 packs (Alpha, Beta and Gamma) are available as free DLC on the PlayStation Store, or as a simple and painless title update for the Xbox 360 version. At least getting these additional levels is easy, am I right? 😉

Fueling the hype train with some early MH4U praise

Jun 02, 2014 // Yuri Araujo

Monster Hunter A.I. is pretty awesome! But don’t take my word for it; check out what Nintendo Enthusiast ‘s Alex B. and Mike D. have to say on the topic:

Look, I know that you know that the  monsters are the true stars of  MH … but besides iconic designs and lovely roars, their A.I. is very intricate; and it’s been getting better and better with each iteration!

Here’s a little preview of the article that you should totally read:

“So what is it that makes these monsters astute? For one thing, it’s their adaptability. Attack a monster with a melee weapon, and they will engage in an attack pattern that makes being near them very dangerous; attack them with a ranged weapon, and they will shoot deadly projectiles and ram you with all their speed instead. Fight them solo, and they will dance a fearsome dance with you; bring your friends, and the beasts will run back and forth across the battlefield instead, and emit area-of-effect attacks more often.”

Then, once you’re done, you can have a healthy discussion about your favorite monster A.I. moments in the comments.
