Summer is officially upon us, and the Steam Summer Sales rage on. Better yet, Valve is giving you, the customer, some control over what goes on sale. Vote for games in the “Community’s Choice” section on the Steam main page . The highest-voted games will receive significant discounts!

Fan favorite Tigrex is back and it is fiercer than ever before!
Since its debut in MHF2 , the Tigrex has been a real threat to newcomers and veteran hunters alike. Now with the addition of more vertical maps, this fearsome wyvern had to learn a few new tricks to remain offensive and dangerous.
As climbing was made easier for hunters, it was also made easier for monsters with really strong front limbs, like the Tigrex. It will now ignore most terrain elevation and keep charging at you, climbing small ledges and even walls!
And to mix it up a bit, Tigrex can also leap quite far or toss rocks at you – ice rocks if you’re hunting it in the Frozen Seaway. When you fight a Frenzied Tigrex though, these projectiles will infect you with the virus.
One of the most interesting things about the Tigrex in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is that it will not stay in place when you’re riding it. While most other monsters will only flail their torso to shake you off, the Tigrex will actually start rolling around the map, covering quite a bit of distance and hurting anyone in its way. It’s quite an epic struggle!
After you manage to hunt a few of these incredibly vicious monsters, you get to craft some fierce-looking equipment. Here are some examples:
Switch Axe
Relic Blademaster armor
Relic Gunner armor
And a little bonus for you guys, here are some weapons you can craft from the subspecies, the Brute Tigrex (Long Sword and Gunlance):

As it turns out, last year we were at Anime Expo showing off Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Ace Attorney Phoenix Wright Dual Destinies and we happened to catch an amazing gathering of Monster Hunter cosplayers. You can see tooooooons of pictures here.
This year, the same awesome group is gearing up for another meet-up! You can see all the details on this post, or hit up Kinokashi for more info (she’s the one that has made upwards of 6 armor sets already!).
The meet-up will happen at Anime Expo (Los Angeles Convention Center) on July 5th, which is the third day of the show. Again, check the post for full details .
Sadly, we won’t be there this year (I know, I know =/ ), but I’m counting on whoever attends to take lots of pictures for the blog. =)

You know what’s just as awesome as our life-size Gore Magala statue? This video showing how it was made!
As you can see, Frank Ippolito and his team put a lot of thought and hard work on this project, and the results are simply amazing! You have to see this in person to get the true feeling of how awesome this Gore Magala statue is… and I’m happy to confirm that we’ll be taking this monstruous sculpture to San Diego Comic Con !

The great news continues today for Dead Rising fans. If you’re eagerly anticipating the release of the million-selling Dead Rising 3 on PC, you’ll definitely want to jump on today’s 24-Hour Steam Sale , which knocks a whopping 25% off the game’s pre-order price, but just for the next 24 hours. That also of course means that, as of now, you can pre-order the game!
Meanwhile, I can happily confirm that the PC version will release on September 5 th , 2014 for $49.99. With today’s discount, that means you can pick it up for $37.49. This is absolutely the time to buy.

Round 10… SING! By now you should have already listened to at least one of Smooth McGroove’s a capella renditions of classic Capcom tunes – they’re all amazing! The latest addition to his repertoire is Ryu’s theme from Street Fighter II .
Yep, this is his 10th Capcom a capella arrangement and, just like the other ones, it is sooooo good! Speaking of the other ones, here’s a little recap list for you:

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate expands the monster class list with the addition of Amphibians . The first one you’ll encounter is the Tetsucabra! This monster uses its super strong jaws and tusks to pick up boulders and use them in very brutal ways…
On the offensive side, the Tetsucabra will carry a giant rock in its mouth, approach its prey and smash it, scattering rock fragments in a short blast radius, knocking the enemies away. And let’s not forget that strong hind legs let this monster jump really high, which makes it a real threat in MH4U ’s very vertical maps.

Another interesting use of boulders is when the Tetsucabra places an extra-large rock right in front of its face. This is particularly advantageous to it in the more enclosed zones of the Sunken Hollow . The boulder will act as a temporary shield, stopping your arrows, bullets and making your melee attacks will bounce back, interrupting your combos. This can leave you open just long enough for you to get charged down, so watch out!
