Capcom Pro Tour Content FAQ
Like last year, we know many of you will have questions about this content. We want to be as clear and transparent as possible about the purpose of this initiative. Please review the FAQ below or shoot us a Tweet @CapcomFighters if what’s on your mind is not covered below!

What percentage of the Capcom Pro Tour DLC revenue is going to the Capcom Cup 2017 prize pool?

A minimum of 30% of the revenue will go to the Capcom Cup 2017 prize pool, and an additional 50% of the revenue is invested into Capcom Pro Tour production. That means that Capcom contributes more than 80% of all CPT DLC revenue directly to support Capcom Pro Tour initiatives.

We’ll be providing ongoing updates throughout the year, so you’ll know how close we are to reaching our goal.

Also, remember that we contribute a portion of our sponsorship, ad revenue, and merchandise sales into the Capcom Pro Tour and Capcom Cup prize pool as well.

How long will the content be available?
We plan on taking this content off of the marketplace on November 29, before Capcom Cup 2017. This is the cut-off point so that we can tally up to revenue that will go directly into the prize pool.

Monster Hunter: World Beta, Horizon Zero Dawn collaboration and New Trailer revealed

Oct 30, 2017 // Yuri Araujo

Straight from Paris Games Week 2017, we’re excited to reveal the deathly Rotten Vale ecosystem, an online Beta and stunning Horizon Zero Dawn collaboration gear!

The Rotten Vale is home to vulturous monsters that prey on one another and are not afraid of hiding bone piles and decaying carcasses. It’s an extremely dangerous part of this new world, and one you do not want to venture into by yourself.

But before you get to the Rotten Vale, your journey through the new world actually starts at the Ancient Forest. So if you’ve been itching to get your hands on Monster Hunter: World and want to begin scoping out the place before the game hits the shelves next year, we have the perfect opportunity for you: an online Beta!

The  Monster Hunter: World online Beta will be available exclusively on PlayStation 4 starting December 9 th , 2017 and will be open only to PS Plus users worldwide.

Designed specifically to give you a taste of the thrill of the hunt, this online Beta will offer you three total quests across the Ancient Forest and Wildspire Waste. The target monsters will be the gluttonous Great Jagras, the headstrong Barroth and the fearsome Anjanath, but I highly recommend you keep your eyes wide open for other dangerous monsters looking to claim their territory in each ecosystem. All 14 weapon types will be available for you to choose, but make sure to study your surroundings and use your environment to gain the upper hand.

We are also very proud to announce a special collaboration with Guerrilla games to bring you gear themed after the expert huntress Aloy, along with sophisticated machine-inspired Felyne gear, from Horizon Zero Dawn .

This special collaboration will be available for free and only on PS4, but you’ll have to prove your worth by completing a unique Event Quest and gathering the required resources. More details to come at a later date.

Monster Hunter: World will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 26 th , 2018, and you can already pre-order your copy and secure the nostalgic Origin Set armor and other neat bonuses; more details here. Can’t wait to hunt online with you in the Beta later this year!

A Fond Farewell

Oct 27, 2017 // ComboFiend

Hey everyone, long time, no talk!

I know I’ve been less visible lately as I’ve been working on our latest fighting games, but I did want to thank you all directly for your support and share a fond farewell as I depart from Capcom .

The last five years or so have been a blur! When I first came to Capcom, the only thing on my mind was getting more people to play Capcom fighting games. From the various Street Fighter games, various Versus games, Darkstalkers, Rival Schools, to you name it, Capcom fighting games have been a core component of both my youth and adulthood. In my youth, these games allowed me to foster friendships through playing with others at my local arcade, which would not have happened otherwise. In my adulthood, they’ve provided me the ability to bond with so many people across the world as we share our love for them. It was these experiences and more that I wanted those unfamiliar with fighting games to also experience.

Through the releases of our latest and greatest fighters as well as the creation of the Capcom Pro Tour during my time here, I’m happy to see there are more people than ever enjoying Capcom fighting games; whether they’re playing or spectating. I can honestly say that it makes me happy to see the newer generation of players creating rivalries and friendships, as well as discussing, analyzing and bonding over these games the same ways I used to and still do.

I’ve been fortunate enough to work on the games that shaped my life, a definite dream come true, but now I feel it’s time for the next generation to be able to do the same. There’s no doubt in my mind that the current generation has their own unique ideas that will push Capcom’s fighting games forward in terms of innovation and evolution. I definitely look forward to seeing those ideas come to fruition in the future.

Although my time at Capcom has come to an end, the interactions and experiences I’ve had with everyone online and in person easily remain as some of my most memorable experiences. Thanks to you all for the fond memories. I now join you all once again as a member of the community and as a Capcom fan. I’m confident the team here will continue to do great work for all of us who love not only fighting games, but games in general.

See you guys around!

Inspiration Behind the Premium Costumes in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite

Oct 25, 2017 // Andy Wong

All 18 Premium Costumes now available for those on the hunt for a new look! Feel like you’ve seen some of these costumes before? Most of them were directly inspired by decades’ worth of rich history from both Marvel and Capcom. Seen in comic book pages to retro games, we’ve compiled a list of images to show you where the design of each Premium Costume harkens back to.

Captain Marvel (Warbird Costume) – Before she became Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers saved the day as the high-flying Warbird. But even back then, her signature sash was part of her look. The image in the middle is the cover of Ms. Marvel Vol. 2 #1 (March 2006)

Iron Man (Superior Iron Man Costume) – Tony Stark combined the latest technology with genetic material from a symbiote to create this sleek – and superior – Iron Man suit. The image on the right is a variant cover of Superior Iron Man Vol. 1 #1 (January 2015)

Captain America (Gladiator Costume) – Even in an alternate universe with no U.S.A, Steve Rogers still donned red, white and blue to battle countless Hulk opponents.

Hulk (Joe Fixit Costume) – Bruce Banner’s inner demons manifest themselves in many forms, including Joe Fixit – a well-meaning antihero who keeps the streets safe.

Thor (Ultimate Thor Costume) – This alternate timeline version of Thor brandished a different hammer and flashier costume than his mainstream counterpart.

Doctor Strange (Illuminati Costume) – Stephen Strange once joined with other heroes to form The Illuminati, a clandestine group intent on keeping Earth safe from otherworldly threats by any means ncessary.

Hawkeye (Ultimate Hawkeye Costume) – This alternate timeline version of Hawkeye is every bit the marksman as his mainstream counterpart, but also benefits from enhanced vision and other augmentations.

Firebrand (Ultimate Firebrand Costume) – With the power of the six ancient crests, Firebrand transforms into the Ultimate Gargoyle! Firebrand was first seen in this form in Demon’s Crest, the third game he starred in.

Chun-Li (Casual Costume) – The strongest woman in the world still knows how to cut loose! This costume is inspired by the outfit Chun-Li was wearing during her ending in Street Fighter II and the prologue of Street Fighter IV .

Spencer (Gottfried Costume) – From Bionic Commando Rearmed, Gottfried Groeder used stolen information to build his own bionic arm, which made him a thorn in Spencer’s side on several occasions. If Spencer had taken Gottfried’s outfit, it would look something like this!

Nemesis (Tyrant Costume) – Umbrella’s experiments yielded numerous B.O.W. variations, including more than one type of “Tyrant.” Nemesis has traded his signature look for an outfit the Tyrant (T-103) from Resident Evil 2 wore.

Dante (Nephilim Costume) – This costume brings back the alternate-universe version of Dante: a half demon, half angel hybrid from DmC: Devil May Cry known as a “Nephilim.”

Ryu (Wanderer Costume) – No matter the country, world or dimension, there are always streets to walk and foes to meet. Inspired by Ryu’s Battle Costume from Street Fighter V, which has now been labeled as “Hot Ryu” by the community – this time, without a beard.

Chris (Classic Costume) – Today, Chris Redfield is one of the world’s top experts on B.O.W.s, having engaged them in combat around the globe. But even he got his start somewhere, wearing an outfit similar to this.

Arthur (Fallen Angel Costume) – His armor may lack the sophistication of Zero and X, but Arthur’s many outfits have seen him through countless deadly adventures. This one in particular was first seen in Ultimate Ghosts ’n Goblins.

We hope you learned a little more about the inspiration behind the first batch of Premium Costumes. If you’ve been counting, you probably noticed there’s only 15 of them listed here. That’s because Dormammu, Ghost Rider, and Morrigan’s Premium Costumes are original designs made just for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite! All three are equally stylish and will be part of the series’ history.

If there’s a specific costume that meets your eye, you can purchase it individually for $3.99. Otherwise, there are three different packs that include six Premium Costumes available for $11.99 per pack. If you have decided you want all 18 of these glorious costumes, you can purchase the Premium Costume Pass for $29.99!

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC!

Frank West becomes a Street Fighter in Capcom Heroes

Oct 18, 2017 // Jeffery Simspon

I’ve already written about how a love of Capcom’s most iconic characters has always been at the heart of the Dead Rising franchise and few characters are as iconic as Capcom as those from Street Fighter . Which is why it’s only natural that our second group of Capcom Heroes, coming to Dead Rising 4 on December 5th, are from that legendary fighting series.

Along with our previously announced characters (and more on the way!) Dead Rising ‘s Frank West will be able to take on the look and abilities of Street Fighter legends Akuma, Cammy, M. Bison, Ryu and Mecha-Zangief!

For a look at these costumes and abilities in action watch our latest trailer for Dead Rising 4 ‘s Capcom Heroes below.

Capcom Heroes will be a free update to Dead Rising 4 , availble December 5th. Dead Rising 4 is also coming to the PlayStation 4 the same day in Dead Rising 4: Frank’s Big Package which includes Capcom Heroes and all of the previously released content for Dead Rising 4 .

Black Panther, Sigma, and Monster Hunter have joined the fight in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite!

Oct 17, 2017 // Andy Wong

Claws, energy swords, and blades have flurried into Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite as Black Panther, Sigma, and Monster Hunter officially join the fight! With three completely original playstyles, it’s time to see what strategies and synergies you can discover to bring victory to each battle. If you missed their gameplay trailers or would like a quick reminder on what each character is capable of, continue reading on!

The king of Valkanda has arrived to bring justice for his people who have suffered at the hands of Ultron Sigma. T’Challa utilizes a quick series of slashes using Chain of Hunting and Predator Arts to pressure his opponents into making risky moves to escape. In his Lv3 Hyper Combo, Black Panther unleashes the Law of the Jungle to show his opponent the power of a king.

A being whose hatred towards humanity resulted in his fusion with Ultron, Sigma yearns to see all biological life wiped from existence. Using Arc Divide and Second Divide, Sigma creates dimensional rifts, which linger around the screen and greatly increases his range. His Lv3 Hyper Combo, Final Sigma, sends opponents into the digital world to be the recipient of a viral attack.

Monster Hunter is Black Panther’s right hand woman from the former desert town of Val Habar. Carrying three different weapons for all ranges of combat, she has answers to every choice her opponent makes. Monster Hunter’s Lv3 Hyper Combo, Hunter’s Pride, sees her releasing a barrage of blows from all her weapons culminating in an explosion, which sends her opponent flying into the air.

If you have the 2017 Character Pass, which is purchasable for $29.99, all three characters will be automatically unlocked. Each character can also be purchased individually for $7.99, which includes their Premium Costumes as pictured below.

We’re still diligently working on Winter Soldier, Black Widow, and Venom who will join the fray later this year and are also part of the 2017 Character Pass. More information on these deadly characters are coming in the near future! As always, follow our Twitter and like us on Facebook to stay up to date on Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite .
