Strider Japanese physical version Twitter giveaway

Feb 28, 2014 // GregaMan

Well! So this is exciting. These here super-rad, Japan-only physical copies of  Strider  for the PS3 just arrived in the office. Guess we better find some good homes for them. Read on to find out how  you can get a chance to win one!

Now look–I know a lot of you guys wanted to see these things stateside, and unfortunately it’s not always as simple as just making it so. But as the community team, we wanted to at least give some of you guys a  chance to get your hands one one of these undeniably cool pieces without having to go through importers.

Frankly, I’ve been fighting the intense urge to pocket one of these things all day, reminding myself over and over that I have wayyyy too much stuff as it is and that the rise of digital media is actually the best thing that’s happened for me in the industry of late.

But for those of you who still have a spare 1.4cm of shelfspace and who are drooling over the above photo, here’s what you’ve got to do for a chance to receive a copy.

Step 1) Follow @capcom_unity on Twitter. Surely you already were.

Step 2) Retweet THIS TWEET by 12pm PT on Monday, March 3rd. Further Twitter love for Strider is appreciated but optional. <3

Step 3) Wait for us to announce on Twitter that the winners have been selected. Winners will receive Direct Messages on Twitter asking for their mailing information.

And that’s it! Easy.

For those who don’t know, here’s what this package contains:

-Japanese version of the new  Strider  (playable on Western PS3s)
-Download tokens for Strider 1 and 2 “Game Archives” on PSN.*
-Strider Hiryu PS3 custom theme.*

*Note that you’ll need to set up a Japanese PSN account to access the digital features. Pretty sure the community can help you out with that ;D

Best of luck to all, and may the odds be ever in your favor. Cool

Follow-up fan art: Random Access MONSTER

Feb 28, 2014 // Yuri Araujo

What if a certain French electronica duo were actually  Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Shakalakas?

So… remember yesterday? Yep, I know I just posted that  Random Access Hunting fan art by Windjammer17 , but lo and behold, somebody else had a similar idea that was just as awesome!

Today’s art is from EndoSkull (who is also a Unity member ) and it bring Cha-Cha and Kayamba to center stage, but wearing Daft Punk syle masks…

Don’t you just love the little digital spirals on Cha-Cha’s mask??

Again, thanks to Rostov for pointing me to this art in yesterday’s comment section. =)

Capo’s SF Toyline Wins Toy Fair 2014 Award

Feb 27, 2014 // ComboFiend

A round of applause is in order for Capo Toys and their recent Toy Fair win for “Best New Toyline.” Although competition hailed from the likes of famed toy makers Mattel and NECA among others, Capo Toys was able to pull through. Continue on to see the models up close and personal!

Besideds being rather detailed sculpts, these toys also contain cloth outfits, as shown through Ryu’s Gi and Sagat’s shorts. Five different toys were debuted, which you can see below. For those looking to get their hands on these toys now, apologies, but you’ll have to wait til the end of the year. In the meantime, follow @capotoys on Twitter for the latest updates on the coolest toys out.

And if you’re looking for even more photos, head over to  Inside Pulse’s gallery .

Check this fan-made Dark Souls X Mega Man clip

Feb 27, 2014 // Minish Capcom

I’m a pretty big fan of Dark Souls AND the ol’ Blue Bomber, so this amazing mashup of the two really brings a smile to my face. And I figure it’ll do the same for you!

In addition to the referential music, I also love the ‘Robot Master’ names. Souls fans know what’s up, haha.

Each time I die, I’ll prompt the Twitch chat to chime in a keyword. Do so and you’re entered for a chance to win one o’ them 2011 mugs seen above. I have three to give away, and even if I somehow  never  die, I’ll give them away 🙂

Fan art: Daft Shakalaka presents Random Access Hunting

Feb 26, 2014 // Yuri Araujo

What if our favorite Shakalaka duo were actually French electronica musicians?

That’s clearly what Windjammer17 was going for when creating this fantastic piece of fan art. But wait – there’s more!!

He even came up with a parody track-list to go with it – check it out in the Deviantart description section . My favorite is definitely  Get Lucky (feat. Rubies, Mantles, Palliums). What’s yours?

MAD Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate videos by rahmen

Feb 25, 2014 // Yuri Araujo

You know those “[MAD]” Monster Hunter videos floating around on YouTube? Yeah, they’re just a bunch of hunters showing off their skills at the game… but that’s totally fine with me! I mean, look; it’s AWESOME!

Today’s selection comes from YouTuber  rahmen … and I suspect we’ll be sharing more videos from them later this year 😉

Please note they are playing on the Japanese version (MHTriG HD Ver.) so there are a few subtle differences here and there…

And thanks Rostov for pointing me to their channel!

Come watch us play through Remember Me

Feb 26, 2014 // GregaMan

Well, so I love  Remember Me.  As you may recall from experience or from my blog about being in love with the game’s music , the game has really great music. So great, in fact, that it just won the IFMCA award for “Best Original Score for a Video Game or Interactive Media.”

It also has amazing art design, which I’ve also plotzed about at length.

It’s also got lots of other great things that I love about it, and it’s currently available for free to PS+ members, so tune into our Twitch stream today at 3pm PT to learn why you should be playing this one-of-a-kind game.

A couple of preliminary notes:

-I intend to play through the entire game over the course of several streaming sessions. We’ll see how far I get today, but I’m in for at least two hours.

-I will be playing the game with French VO, which I feel is the way it should be done. Don’t worry, there are English subtitles.
