The wonderful folks over at Resident Evil.net have unleashed SIX new Present Codes today, which can be entered on the website for new weapons and items. But while past Codes had RE-centric names, this batch is a shoutout to the Capcom Unity crew – which I gotta say is pretty cool 😛
Raider – Level 10, Slot 3 (unlock with “unity”)
Chimera – Level 46, Slot 5 (unlock with “brelston”)
With 5 slots available this handgun can be tweaked in any way imaginable, and it reloads fast too!
High Roller II – Level 31, Slot 5 (unlock with “gregaman”)
Powerful, but has a heck of a kickback. Maybe it can be tamed somehow…
Long Magazine VIII (unlock with “neil”)
Worry less about reloading and more about filling enemies with lead.
Bottomless Pouch II (unlock with “yuri”)
Never run out of shock grenades again, which are especially useful in waterlogged areas.
Fangs II (unlock with “combofiend”)
Each hit restores some of your life when this part is equipped; make sure to use it if you keep running out of herbs
These Present Codes are valid from today through May 7th at 15:00 JST.
Fighting game community darling and thoroughly-known face here on Unity Maximilian has put up a terrific art and design retrospective on the Capcom fighting classic (and my personal favorite fighting game), X-Men vs. Street Fighter.
The video also marks the kick-off of the “SUPER ARTS!” series, which will be an ongoing examination of the art and design elements of various fighting games. Give it a Like and look forward to more!
Coincidentally, our very own Brelston once did his own retrospective on the history of the “Versus” series, featuring the calm, lilting narration of Capcom alum Seth Killian. Enjoy!
Alright, this one is a bit delayed, I know… but you know what else can be delayed? Most moves following a standard Switch Axe attack. That and many more expert tips can be found on the Switch Axe video below:
Once again, a big THANK YOU to all those that helped by sharing their knowledge on this weapon class. It was fun reading all you had to say, and the sub-discussions that surfaced in the thread .
It’s Friday, Arisens, and I reckon I’ll toss on a little more Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen this afternoon to celebrate. Tune into Twitch at 4pm PT to join the fun and, above all else, help meh!
Today’s throwback game is pretty rad, not gonna lie. If you like the original Dead Rising, the movie Gladiator, and inflicting pain upon your fellow citizen, this one’s for you. Also, shame on you.
Shadow of Rome released for the PlayStation 2 in 2005, featuring two protagonists, each with their own distinct gameplay style. It also continued Capcom’s tradition of making games that were impossibly pretty. Tune into Twitch at 4pm PT for our stream!
::UPDATE:: Looks like my blog text vanished?! Sorry guys, not sure what’s up….
Above are our winners for Round 5, the final round of our Strider Leaderboard Showdown. Congrats to our very own moderator, Zonic! I wrote a bunch of other irreverent stuff, but it got deleted somehow, so yeah! Congrats to Zonic, all participants have been badged!
Yesterday, Nintendo’s official YouTube channel played and talked over some good ol’ Final Fight on the Wii U Virtual Console (video after the jump), and it seemed like a good opportunity to point out that the channel puts up a lot of Virtual Console footage. In the spirit of Throwback Thursday, why not subscribe?
Meanwhile, don’t forget to tune into our Twitch channel today at 4pm PT for our own Throwback stream!

Are you keeping up with the recurring challenges over at Resident Evil.net ? If so, you’re acquiring everything from concept art to actual in-game items… but for the upcoming “2-Team Battle Killcount Challenge 3” event we’d like to sweeten the pot a bit.
Exclusively for Capcom Unity members, visit Resident Evil.net and participate in said event from April 24 to May 12 for a chance to win this rare Ganado Chainsaw figure. To successfully enter:
-The Capcom Unity player who scores the most points in this event will win the figure. If for any reason this person cannot redeem the prize or does not respond to our Capcom Unity PMs by May 19, we will move to the second place player and so on until the prize is given away.
-Open to PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U players
-Prize is only redeemable in North America
-Event text from Resident Evil.net:
Defeat as many creatures as possible as a member of one of two teams while playing Raid mode during the event. (Players are automatically assigned to a team by the system, it is not possible to choose or change teams. Campaign mode not supported)
Only data sent during the Results screen at the end of a stage is valid.
Players are awarded the same place in the event of a tie. No character / weapon / parts / stage / players / creatures / difficulty restrictions. Your event score is displayed under World Records > Online events > Your score
Once we have our winner, we’ll update this page with their name. Good luck!
The fine folks at Fro Design Co have put together some amazing vintage travel posters based off of stages from Street Fighter II. They even included the now defunct Transworld Airlines in the posters, as they were prevalent in the late 80’s, early 90’s. Continue on for more or go here to order .
Hey hunters! We’ve got everything straightened out for a Monster Hunter Freedom Unite MULTIPLAYER live stream, and you should join us! Here’s how:
If you just want to watch us hunt and chat with us, tune in to twitch.tv/capcomunity starting at 4pm PT . But if you want to partake in the hunt…
First of all, get your delightful copy of MHFU on your PSP or PSVita (did you get it while it was FREE for PS+ members?) AND the Adhoc Party app on your PS3. Then look for us at World A Lobby 01 . We’ll set up a room called MHMondays , as we usually do on Mondays… and the occasional Tuesday Edition, lol.
Attention: if you don’t already have Adhoc Party on your PS3, you can only claim it via this link and later download it on you PS3. I know it’s weird, but such is life.
