Meanwhile the press have given Frank West’s return to Willamette high marks. A sampling of Frank West’s best press is after the jump.
” Dead Rising 4 has the best core gameplay the series has ever seen. Its inventive and humorous ways to put down the dead are something I still haven’t tired of, and its surprisingly interesting plot is more than just a zombie-killing delivery system.” – IGN
” Dead Rising 4 is able to take the best elements of the older and newer games in the series and mash them into a spectacular open-world zombie-slaying experience. The game’s core gameplay is just so engaging and enjoyable that diving into hordes after hordes of zombies to wreak havoc never gets old, and having Frank West back in the action makes it even better.” – Attack of the Fanboy
“…bloody, chaotic, and downright hilarious. If you’re looking to turn your brain off this holiday season, and de-stress with gratuitous violence, this is the game for you.” – Gaming Trend
“A zombie slaying experience unlike anything else on the market. It’s a riot, it’s a hoot and it’s on Santa’s nice list.” – Hardcore Gamer
Dead Rising 4 is out now on Xbox One and Windows 10.
Welcome to the family, Xbox One. We’re happy to announce that Xbox One owners can download Resident Evil 7 biohazard Teaser Demo: Beginning Hour, providing a glimpse of RE7’s survival horror that you can enjoy at home before the game comes out in January (PC users will be able to check out the final demo as well on 12/19). If you haven’t had the chance yet, now is a great time to experience the complete Beginning Hour demo on either Xbox One or PlayStation 4 . Plus, learn more about what secrets hide within the mansion’s halls, including a mysterious item you can use in the full game.
If you’ve just grabbed the demo off of Xbox Live, or if you’re a PS4 player who hasn’t checked it out in a while, we’ve got some more info on what the complete Beginning Hour experience has to offer. The community has discovered lots of secrets over the past few months, including an axe locked away in a kitchen drawer and sightings of a creepy ghost girl who only shows up when playing the VHS tape found somewhere in the house. There are plenty of other strange occurrences and items you can find, but a few of these lead to a peculiar puzzle.
Did you know that there’s a unique item that carries over into the full game as long as you have it in your inventory when you get one of the demo’s endings? If you didn’t before, you do now! Grab the demo off of Xbox Live or PSN, and we’ll get you started. By the way, if you haven’t played the demo before now, I’d highly recommend playing through at least once before reading on. There are some light spoilers for the demo below!
Just to reiterate, I’d strongly recommend you play the demo at least once before reading this! Ready? Great! You’ll need a few things from around the house, and you’ll need access to a particular area that you’ll only learn about from the VHS tape. The next time you play through, you’ll want to investigate the secret passage (that’s revealed on the tape) from the get-go, and grab an item that you can only get by opening the secret passage before experiencing the tape. We’ll leave the rest to you to figure out, but if you’re stumped as to what to do next, the community has done a great job of figuring out all the hints and clues. Don’t be afraid to look to your favorite RE community, such as Reddit or NeoGAF , for more information!

“All Hell is about to break loose.” – What an accurate statement from an old Demon’s Crest magazine ad, because this 1994 Super Nintendo cult classic is now available for $7.99 on the New Nintendo 3DS eShop !
As the third game in the Ghosts ‘n Goblins’ spin-off series known as Gargoyle’s Quest here in the West, Demon’s Crest is a marvelous side-scrolling action-adventure platformer that freshened up the genre in the mid-90s. Read on to find out just what makes Firebrand’s third outing so special.
1. BE the Red Arremer
Tired of being reduced to bones by the Red Arremer in the Ghosts ‘n Goblins games? Well, as luck would have it, you now get to be one! There are many Red Arremers out there who have fallen to Arthur’s javelins, but Firebrand stands (or flies) above the rest!
Like in the previous Gargoyle’s Quest games, Firebrand can hover indefinitely in the air with his gargoyle wings, latch onto walls and fire off a blast of his flame breath at the demons who dare oppose him. He can also now break statues in the background for loot. These moves made Demon’s Crest stand out among platformers of the time that were beholden to keeping your character grounded.
2. Multiple forms
Borrowing a page from the Mega Man X games, Firebrand can explore the world around him and unlock crests that grant him new forms. Transforming into these forms grant him new abilities, like dashing along the ground, soaring through the air and diving into bodies of water to hang out with the aquatic ghouls of the deep.
3. Doom ‘n gloom soundtrack
A big thing that stood out for me when I played Demon’s Crest for the first time was its soundtrack. Composed by Toshihiko Horiyama (Mega Man X4, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney), the music is rightfully moody and dramatic thanks to the heavy use of organ. Listen to the first level’s track “Beyond the Colosseum” and try not to be whisked away into a decrepit, macabre world where ghosts ‘n goblins rule and humans drool.
4. Forge your own path
The main goal of the game tasks Firebrand to reclaim the Fire, Earth, Air, Water and Time crests he was robbed of from rival demon, Phalanx. In an interesting blend of RPG and Mega Man-esque level design, Demon’s Crest allows the player to tackle some areas in a different order. There’s even a town hub where one can talk to NPCs, purchase items and spells or partake in a challenging headbutting mini-game.
There’s also a world map for you to fly around in. From there, you can choose which area to access next and uncover multiple endings, further adding to that great feeling of player agency.
5. Headbutts
Headbutts. Headbutts for days!
Anyway, enough of my nostalgic ramblings – grab the game for $7.99 on the New Nintendo 3DS or Wii U eShop today and soak in all of that beautiful pixel art and animation! And as always, please share your favorite memories of the game in the comments below.
Finally, here are a few other recent Capcom releases on the eShop:
The team here at Capcom Vancouver is excited that Dead Rising 4 is out today for Xbox One and Windows 10. The game sees the return of Frank West, Dead Rising ‘s original hero, as he travels back to Willamette to investigate a new zombie outbreak.
This time it’s the holiday season, as decking the halls has been switched to splattering blood on the walls!
So this Christmas “Let the Slay Ride Begin” and pick your bat and your blambow and fight back against the undead hordes in Dead Rising 4 .
I’ve been in the background as of late, working with the battle team to ensure that Street Fighter V’s 2017 season balance changes, which are coming in a few weeks, will build on the goal we nearly accomplished during the 2016 season: To have each character’s uniqueness truly shine!
Continue on for more details on what we mean by that exactly as well as a few of the steps taken to get there.
From every iteration of Street Fighter since Street Fighter II, it’s been through the uniqueness of each character, that players from all over the world have been able to express themselves with their favorite character. It’s also through this uniqueness that we can see varying styles, even among the same characters.
What we noticed in the 2016 season of Street Fighter V was that although each character has the tools to allow for a distinct experience, there were a few things, which were quite strong in general, resulting in players using them more than the unique attacks each character possesses.
This led players, both the attacker and the one being attacked, to have a similar experience regardless of which characters were being used. We think that by reducing each character’s similarities, we can allow players to fully express themselves through their favorite characters, further providing the Street Fighter experience players have come to know and love.
Although I can’t get into all the specific change details just yet, as that’s subject to our comprehensive 2017 season changelog post due in the coming weeks, below are 3 areas we’re focusing on to give you a better idea of where we will address character similarities:
Recovery After Successful Throws
Strong Anti-Air Light Attacks
Invincible Reversal Reliance
In addition to these three areas, we are also looking at a variety of factors (such as advantage/disadvantage on hit and block, character vitality and stun values, hitbox and hurtbox sizes, etc.) per character when deciding on what changes to make to further diversify them. Overall, we think the changes made will result in a rich, diverse experience per character that both players and spectators will enjoy. We look forward to seeing what character specialists appear throughout 2017 as new characters get released. Prepare to not only have your favorite character’s uniqueness shine, but to have yours shine as well.

“Get out of the house.” This simple message was the first thing to greet players when they downloaded the Resident Evil 7 biohazard Teaser: Beginning Hour demo shortly after Resident Evil 7 biohazard was announced at E3, and this message has haunted them as they’ve tried to escape from a run-down mansion in Louisiana.
The awesome RE community has found all sorts of objects, clues, and items in Beginning Hour, ranging from a common lock pick to a cryptic dummy finger. A locked door has changed in subtle ways from its original release with the first “Twilight” update, adding creepy mold and hinting at something more. With the second and final “Midnight” update, you’ll finally see how everything comes together. For the first time, explore what lies beyond the mold-covered door, where terrifying growling noises emanate from….
PS4 players will be able to enjoy the updated demo with the optional PSVR mode, while PS4 Pro owners with compatible televisions can play the demo in 4K resolution as well. On top of that, all PS4 models will also enjoy HDR support on compatible televisions.

As announced on-stage during the PlayStation Experience keynote, Akuma, the Master of the Fist, is the first Season 2 DLC character for Street Fighter V! Hit the jump to check him out in action!
A staple of the Street Fighter series ever since his secret appearance in Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Akuma is a savage, but well-honed Ansatsuken master consumed by the Satsui no Hado. Akuma represents the danger Ryu faces if he is unable to control the Satsui no Hado within him, and while Akuma appears to have some set of morals, he believes the highest form of battle is that in which participants put their lives on the line.
Akuma returns to Street Fighter V, displaying his mastery of Ansatsuken and while he has become burlier than previous games, he possesses quick footwork and devastating combos. He has a wide array of destructive tools and is able to completely out-class opponents with his oppressive pressure. His moves and stances often strike poses reminiscent of Buddhist statues and Ukiyo-e paintings.
How does Akuma feel about Ryu’s approach to overcoming the Satsui no Hado and what is his relationship to Necalli? Be sure to check out his character story to find out!
V-Skill: Rakan
Akuma strikes a defensive stance and similar to Ryu’s Mind’s Eye, can parry an incoming attack. He can follow-up the move with an upward kick or a long reaching palm strike.
V-Trigger: Dohatsu Shoten
Akuma powers up and envelops his body with ki to enter Dohatsu Shoten mode. In this mode, his Gohadokens are more powerful, now able to travel full-screen and he can unleash two in the air even while jumping backwards. Additionally, when he lands his Goshoryuken attack, he follows-up and violently drives his opponents into the ground.
Critical Art: Sekia Koretsuha
Akuma channels an incredible amount of ki into his palm and drives it into the ground, striking the opponent with an exploding pillar of fierce energy.
Critical Art: Shun Goku Satsu
Only accessible while in Dohatsu Shoten mode, Akuma’s most powerful attack returns. He glides towards the opponent and grabs them, resulting in a series of devastating strikes in the blink of an eye.
As announced at PlayStation Experience, Akuma is coming to Street Fighter V on December 20 th alongside our Holiday Content, B-Boy Ryu and B-Girl Chun-Li. Akuma’s Story, Premium Battle and Nostalgia costumes will also be available when he releases on the 20 th.
