In our previous blogpost , we mentioned school costumes are coming to Street Fighter V for Ryu, Chun-Li and Juri, alongside the remastered Thailand stage.
That’s not all as we have three more work-themed costumes coming on the same day for Alex, R. Mika and Chun-Li. The team created these by thinking what sort of jobs would the characters have, if they weren’t fighting?
Alex is all warmed up; paying tribute to the brave men and women of his hometown with a firefighter costume. We think we could make an entire calendar of just screenshots of Alex in this costume.
R. Mika, the Rainbow Bomber, is utilizing her vocal prowess and fighting spirit in a cheerleader costume. In case you’re wondering, the pom-poms can be taken off.
Chun-Li dons business attire, ready to tackle any meeting. Between Chun-Li’s work costume and Kolin’s nostalgia costume, who would you want to work with?
For those who want to rock the workplace, these costumes join the previously announced School Costumes and will be available on April 25 th for $3.99 / ï¿¥400 / €3.99 each.

Thank you to everybody who took the new Capcom Fighters Network (CFN) and the new Season 2 Balance Updates for a spin during the PC Beta Test. We wanted to give everybody an update on the current status of these and the next Season 2 DLC character. Hit the jump for full details.
We are happy to announce the test has allowed us to make further adjustments to optimize the new CFN. We know you’re all very eager for the new CFN but we also want to ensure it meets all of our expectations before it officially launches. In order to help us get the new CFN to where it needs to be, we are looking into conducting an additional Beta Test soon. In case you missed what the new CFN entails, check out our previous blogpost here .
For the potential additional Beta Test, current and new players will be able to participate in the beta for FREE and all released characters will be unlocked for play for the duration of the test, including the next Season 2 DLC character. The identity of the new Street Fighter V character will be revealed soon.
Also, closely tied to the new CFN are the new Season 2 Balance Updates and the next Season 2 DLC Character. For the full list of balance changes, check out our previous blogpost here . These additional balance changes and the next Season 2 DLC character were originally planned to launch at the end of April. Since both of these were developed under the new CFN infrastructure, they have to release alongside the new CFN when it is ready.
More details and the exact timing of the next CFN Beta Test will be announced in the coming weeks. Thank you all once again for helping us make the new CFN the best it can be.
There is still to-be-announced content coming to Street Fighter V at the end of April. For the latest updates on Street Fighter V, follow us on Facebook and Twitter .
Those ready to relive classic 8-bit memories of beloved Disney characters can already get started with The Disney Afternoon Collection . And to help contextualize the games a little more, we’ve worked with the Laser Time crew to get you the 4-1-1 on the universes of each of game series in this collection. Let’s start things with TaleSpin:
There’s more on the way in the coming days, so stay tuned!
As revealed at our WonderCon 2017 panel, the iconic Thailand Stage has been remastered and is making its debut in Street Fighter V. The Thailand Stage is where we all first met M. Bison, the evil dictator and head of Shadaloo, in Street Fighter II. Hit the jump to checkout more info on the costumes and stage.
The stage’s intricate bell and statues have been carefully recreated in SFV with great detail, as well as the stage’s memorable theme.
Below are some concept art sketches from the team. We even explored a night time version of the stage, dramatically lit with candles but ultimately chose to stay true the original stage as much as possible.
The Thailand Stage will be available on April 25 th for $3.99 / ï¿¥400 / €3.99. It is also available for 70,000 Fight Money.
Also revealed at our WonderCon 2017 panel and on the Street Fighter Academy Quiz on April Fools, we are happy to unveil concept art and the final in-game look for the three premium school costumes for Ryu, Chun-Li and Juri.
Ryu’s costume is based on a stereotypical Japanese Bancho (student gang leader) with direct input from a team member who actually used to wear clothes like this when he was younger. The lining on his coat depicts a faceoff between a Dragon and a Tiger.
Keeping with the atmosphere of her origin, Chun-Li’s costume represents her as an Honor Roll student. She only has the highest standards for herself and always aims to be the top of her class.
As you can see, Juri really pulls off the black lipstick and nails. The team had a lot of fun creating a Gothic schoolgirl look for her. We especially love the spider on the back of her jacket!
For those who want to rule the schoolyard, each costume will also be available on April 25 th for $3.99 / ï¿¥400 / €3.99.
More new content for April is on the way, so stay tuned for more. For the latest updates on Street Fighter V, follow us on Facebook and Twitter .

By the way, just dropping a quick reminder that The Disney Afternoon Collection comes out this coming Tuesday, April 18! You probably already know the six classic games featured in this compilation, but you probably haven’t seen some of the archival material we managed to sneak in there for you. Just this week we talked about the original games’ boxes :
——————————
The Capcom Pro Tour is in full swing and this weekend, California heats up with NorCal Regionals (NCR). Looking at the current lineup of Street Fighter V players, I can already tell you the competition is gonna be pretty fierce: we’ve got NuckleDu, Marn, Tokido, FChamp, Punk, Momochi, Justin Wong and Fuudo, all who are also currently competing on ELEAGUE , and many more! Make sure to check out NCR’s page for the full schedule of all other fighting games, too!
Those of you who have checked out the “21” DLC for Resident Evil 7 biohazard are familiar with the mix of hope and despair brought on by hearing Lucas Baker utter that phrase. For those of you unfamiliar, “21” is a side story to RE7 which finds the hapless camera operator Clancy trapped in a deadly card game where losing a hand refers to more than just the cards being dealt. Reddit user lugia10 decided to recapture some of this survival horror of a different nature by working on a set of cards similar to the grungy, worn-out cards on display in the game.
Looks like they’re off to a great start! It seems like they’re not only making the cards, but also making a set of rules based off of the ones in-game (minus the, uh, more Baker-esque aspects). You can head over to lugia10’s Reddit thread to help cheer them on, or offer some advice on how to make their cards just as dingy and stained as Lucas would like them.

Artist Dennis Daniel Lima apparently just joined Twitter and… what a way to start! So far he’s put out some excellent pieces of Capcom fan art in different art styles. My favorite one so far is this crossover of Darkstalkers characters hanging out in E. Honda’s bathhouse.
I’m also very fond of this interpretation of Mega Man X:
Speaking of Mega Man, here’s Stephanie again with something pretty fun for ya:
Stephanie Palermo : Hello, hello, again, Unity friends. Did you know today (4/14) is Draw Mega Man Day? Art enthusiast Andrew is hosting an event on your social media channel of choice today (like Twitter, Tumblr) encouraging fellow fans to draw Blue Bomber art. Which Mega Man series applies, you ask? That’s a good question. Art from any and all Mega Man series is welcome – from the classic series to StarForce. Use the hashtag #DMMD2017 and we may just reach out to feature your work here next week! Not an artist? Check out the hashtag to absorb the energy of all the cool work everyone’s contributing!

STICKY NOTE: Did you make something cool? Send us a note or drop a comment below; we would love to feature your work here! Same goes for any awesome stuff you may see in the wild; we always welcome more fantastic fan work. =)

And with that, we wrap up another week of Capcom goodness. Remember to stay tuned to the blog reel and social media channels for more immediate updates, but otherwise, I’ll see you here again next week!
Let’s take another look back into the past with a closer look at some of the materials featured in our Museum section of the Gallery mode. This time, it’s all about the original packaging art.
Original materials from the late 80s and early 90s era of gaming are oftentimes really hard to find. Much like my 90s bedroom, archiving and organizing material in the industry just wasn’t super clean back then, so we worked closely with the experts at Digital Eclipse to find some great materials for this section of the game’s gallery.
Similarly to the Pencil to Pixel sketches we recently showed you, there’s a certain charm to seeing rough and sometimes raw pieces of art. In this case, we actually got high resolution scans of each game’s original box art. For today’s blog, let’s focus on the very first game release: DuckTales (1989).
The header image this time is actually a scan of the limited edition golden cartridge for the 2013 release, just to show you that we’ve tried to include several different versions of these games’ pack art.
Collectors will remember this one: the iconic purple box frame… the white Capcom logo on a red background… the Captain Commando signature… wait, what?
And here’s the Japanese version counterpart, which came out the following year. The artwork itself is almost the same, with the only change being the saturation of the colors. The rest is completely different: different box size, color, back of box layout, no Captain Commando.
Pretty interesting stuff, if you ask me. But what do you think? Let us know in the comments.
And remember to pick up The Disney Afternoon Collection on April 18 to see these pieces as well as scans of the packaging artwork for all 6 games.
Ever dreamed of having your own pet Rathalos and that you could hop on its back and fly through the beautiful land of Monster Hunter on fun adventures? Well, this fall you’ll be able to do just that with Monster Hunter Stories, on the Nintendo 3DS!
In Monster Hunter Stories you take the role of a rider and get to raise and bond with monsters to take them on turn-based battles against all the dangers that you run into on your journey.
I know a lot of you have been requesting for this game to be localized, so big thanks to our friends at Nintendo for helping bring it over to the West. Make sure you follow their social media channels ( @NintendoAmerica , @NintendoEurope ) to stay up to date on all the news and other goings on surrounding Monster Hunter Stories .

Trophy collectors and Achievement hunters out there, which one(s) will you be chasing down first? Any strategies to share? Let us know in the comments. =)
Hello again, Capcom Unity! Since our last recap, the team here and I attended WonderCon and are still slowly recovering from the event. For those that missed it, here’s your chance to see the surprises we revealed at the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary panel.
Before we get into the news and brand updates, let’s take a moment to appreciate the nostalgia blast coming from this 90s kid’s bedroom booth design, shall we?
Yep! This is where we had people play The Disney Afternoon Collection. Check out more shots of the booth in this gallery.
Just like last time, I’ll be passing the mic over to Harrison Young, for the Street Fighter updates, then Jeffery Simpson, for Dead Rising news.
Harrison Young : First off, I’d like to give a big thanks to everybody who participated in the PC beta over the weekend and helped us collect data for the new Capcom Fighters Network (CFN)!
Last weekend, we hosted the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Panel at WonderCon and announced a couple of new items coming to Street Fighter V. Here’s a quick summary:
The first one is sure to bring back memories of Street Fighter II… the Thailand stage will be making its triumphant return in Street Fighter V !
Next up, we have three new costumes for Ryu, Chun-Li, and Juri! These were a part of the Street Fighter Academy quiz on our CFN portal website on April Fools. If you did well on the quiz, you were rewarded with some awesome artwork of the new costumes by renowned artist Shinkiro. But if you didn’t do so well, you got stuck with… well, some interesting art by Woshige, the Battle Director of Street Fighter V .
Full-size view of each piece can be found in this gallery.
——————————
Jeffery Simpson : Dead Rising 4: Frank Rising just came out this Tuesday on Xbox One and Windows 10 and will be out next Tuesday, April 11th on Steam. Following up the story of Frank West in Willamette, our hero has new abilities and a mysterious new ally. Watch the launch trailer here:

The Monster Hunter community is still growing stronger, like the proverbial Zinogre summoning Fulgurbugs to charge itself up. Coming up later this month, on April 22nd, is a community led event over in Portland, OR. The event will run for 6 hours and will even feature some local streamers. Find out more and RSVP on their Facebook event page: www.facebook.com/events/1401629579898246…
By the way, if you’re hosting your own Monster Hunter gathering, let us know! We’d love to help.

Also at WonderCon, a group of local cosplayers came by our booth with an amazing Monster Hunter set up. Hakuramen, Krow Pan, Russel Del Rosario, Patchworkpuppet and Kinokashi showed up decked out in handmade armor sets and weapons… but they also brought a full-size Felyne Tank! Credit goes to Hakuramen for building the whole thing, but moving it around was definitely a team effort. Great work, everyone!
More awesome cosplay was also happening across the pond at Japan Party 2017, in France. Continuing the trend of impressive feats, aside from making their own armor and a little cardboard Kecha Wacha to serve as a punching bag, they also made a functional Hunting Horn! I wasn’t present at that event, so I didn’t get to verify if people were getting the Defense Boost (L), but you can hear the sound coming through the video:
Stephanie Palermo : Hello! Stephanie here from the Capcom PR fam. Just this weekend, talented fan Daryan shared with us his recent beautiful violin covers of Ace Attorney songs. His approach is a creative take on the series’ dramatic and incredible tunes. Multiple violin video recordings play simultaneously which really brings the layers of this song to life. Check out my favorite of his covers, “Objection! 2001.”

That’s it for this week’s recap. Again, we’re always open to feedback, so please send over your thoughts on the format, type of content, etc.
Thanks to the fantastic Capcom Unity community we managed to have a host of great questions to ask our Vancouver based recruiters. The questions were focused on getting that illusive first job. From being a student looking to start a long career making games to people trying to transition into the industry.
We spoke for just over half an hour, but we hope that you may get some useful advice out of the conversation.
