Okay guys, this is pretty awesome.
So Volante Design , who have made something of a name for themselves with their unique brand of game- and pop culture-inspired fashion, have, in collaboration with us, just put a new design up for pre-order on the Capcom Store . As you can see, it’s a Mega Man jacket.
The cool thing about this jacket and all of Volante’s work is that walks that line between fashionable and faithful so well. With a detachable “helmet”-style hood and subtly inspired color highlights, it works as part of a cosplay ensemble or as an everyday garment.
Awesomely, the Megajacket comes in a range of sizes, from XS to 2XL, and even comes in both men’s and women’s cuts.
Now here’s the catch: The Megajacket is a limited release, and its production depends on pre-orders. Specifically, we need to acquire 200 pre-orders for the men’s jacket, 100 for the women’s–all by March 31st 2014. Otherwise all pre-orders will be……cancelled. Go on, make your jokes.
Luckily that’s a pretty low number, especially when you consider how awesome these jackets are. I think we can do it. But I wholeheartedly encourage you to spread the word to anyone you think might be interested, and to do it soon!

In order to wring out every single trivia tidbit we could, we reached out directly to Double Helix for some official info behind the secretest of secret inspiration behind Strider latest outing. Let’s start where the fans above left off : Trophies and Achievements. Not only is almost every unlockable in-game accolade chock full of geeky goodness, there’s incredibly deep Strider nods even the most hardened Hiryu fan might’ve missed.

Unlock your first Novo gate and you’ll be greeted with a one of the most infamous lines in Resident Evil history. See it here in all its cornball glory .

Awarded to Hiryu for defeating Solo, these Cheevo’s pretty poetic considering it’s something Solo used yell at Strider in the cutscenes from the original game.
Death of the Iron Ruler
In the original Strider game, General Mikiel is (con)joined by his fellow officers to form what we here at Unity affectionately refer to as “The Senatepede.” Of course, the boss’s name is actually Ouroboros, The Iron Ruler.
Equal in the Face of Death
Fans of Strider in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 will recognize this as Strider’s win quote. Plus its some pretty cold **** to say to someone before you kill ’em
Red Dragon Awaits
No, this Achievement isn’t teasing future DLC or anything. Red dragon is actually a reference to the final level in the NES Strider, which gets a healthy dose of acknowledgment in the new game, as we’ve detailed here and here .
That’s No Moon
So in 1977, there was this tiny independent movie called “Star Wars.” You probably haven’t seen it, but there’s this character named Han Solo (pronounced “H-On So-Low”, FYI) who mistakes this thing called a “Death Star” for a celestial satellite orbiting a larger body.
I Am Your Master
Unlocked after beating Meio Prime, this is yet another reference to that obscure aforementioned film “The Star Wars.” Apparently this there’s a character who lives inside this black iron lung thing, and he gets in a fight with some guy named Oby… I don’t know, I think he’s homeless or something. Ba, ba, bah, one of them says the line above.
The Circle in Now Complete
So remember that movie we just mentioned about the star battles? This one where the black dude and the hobo are fighting? This is a reference to a line that occurs during that exact same scene, which I must’ve missed since I’ve never seen the entire thing. Let’s assume the good guy wins!

Instead of just telling what each of the unlockable outfits in Strider is referencing, we decided to let you find out for yourself. Plus we couldn’t think of any way to incorporate those image slider thingy’s we used back when we were showcasing RE4 HD’s texture-tastic facelift. You may remember an announcement for a live-action Street Fighter series, Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist , back in July. If you missed the announcement video, you can catch up after the jump. In either case, we’re happy to announce that the series now has a home!
The series will debut in its entirety on the wildly popular video entertainment site Machinima. No confirmed release date yet, but you can look forward to one soon.
The series comes from director Joey Ansah, who also created the Street Fighter: Legacy short film, which has received nearly five million views to date.
With Assassin’s Fist, he vows to deliver “what a live-action Street Fighter should be,” with incredible attention to detail and utter faithfulness to the games.

I’m a bit of a VGM nerd, and like many of you, very particular about the sounds emanating from my original NES games. This video’s title immediately let me know I was about to get wonderfully trolled, and the contents within certainly didn’t let me down. Amazing… I love how Heat’s stage turns into a cacophonous lava and helicopter-strewn hellscape, yet it also gives you a chance to appreciate the quiet hum Metal Man kept his level running at. The god of manual dexterity known as Desk has decided to grace with another display of his awe inspiring execution. In “No Red Focus” Desk shows that the characters in Ultra SFIV are only finally gaining the ability to do what El Fuerte’s been doing for so long.
Don’t try this at home folks or you may end up with swollen thumbs or severly calloused fingers.

This week’s round, Round 1, will take place on the PlayStation 4. To participate, simply add our PSN ID (Capcom_Unity) as a friend on PSN and clear the game on Normal mode. Then please tell us your PSN ID here in the comments or in a private message to me. This is so we are able to issue your badges.
