Zombie harvesting simulator Dead Rising 3 is up for a FEAR Award over on Bloody Disgusting in the field of “Greatest Gore.” If you thought the gore in DR3 was the greatest, why not go support the game with a vote? I, for one, have already cast my vote.
The site will continue revealing new nominees for the best horror games of 2013 in a number of categories, throughout the rest of the month. Check frequently!
What’s up everyone?! I know it’s been quite a while since Haunts and I graced you with those online thrashings, but we’re finally back after wrapping up a hectic 2013. Come join us this Friday at 4pm PST on our Twitch channel where we’ll be playing SFIV:AE 2012 on PSN(under the tag of Capcomfighters1), chatting about Ultra Street Fighter IV and looking to give out prizes.
Despite only having three, maybe three and a half games to its name, Strider has prevailed as a highly-recognized and beloved gaming IP. There’s just something so cool about that Hiryu. But what is it about the old games themselves that compels people so? Is it those amazing locales? The distinct soundtracks that are by turns cool and bizarre? That one scene on the snowy mountain? What do you think?
In a recent interview with VG247, Strider producer James Vance reaffirmed Capcom and Double Helix’s aim to distill the essence of what has made the series great and deliver the “quintessential Strider experience.”
From the article:
“The passion for, and understanding of the original games has been the number one driving force on the project. We are all huge fans who grew up with Strider on the Genesis/Mega Drive, and push every aspect of the game to delivery on the quintessential Strider experience.”
Strider is poised to become the best Strider game ever when it comes out a little later this year. Remember to tune into Twitch tomorrow at 4pm PT to get an exclusive look!
D-Arts’ amazing line of Mega Man figures grows by one today with the official release of Black Zero. We’re celebrating by giving one away as a Unity Raffle, so get ready to spend some points!
You can enter the raffle via this direct link or check out the raffle widget on the homepage OR your dashboard.
If at any point in the past five years you’ve been in the market for game-related collectibles, odds are you know First 4 Figures by name. They’ve crafted some amazing sculptures of Link, Samus, Mario and more, and now they’re turning their attention toward the Blue Bomber and his scarf-totin’ brother.
These images are both “work in progress” versions of the final product, but given F4F’s track record you can expect high-quality resin statues when they finally launch. And according to the F4F Facebook page ( via TMMN ) they’re also considering X statues at some point. Until then, we have a silver anniversary Classic / X statue in the Capcom Store!
I’m also a proud owner of a Majora’s Mask Skull Kid and can personally vouch for its excellence! Can’t wait to see an updated image later this year 🙂
Get out those day planners, guys. This Thursday, 4pm PT, we’ll be taking another live look at the upcoming Strider, due out a little later this year for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
Tune in to our Twitch channel to catch a new area we’ve never shown in video form, complete with heaps of exploration, high-speed cipher action, a boss fight, and the auspicious return of Strider’s trademark pneumatic tubes. Yeah! Don’t miss this one!
You know how it’s not Monday, right…? Yeah, we were re-setting and re-configuring our streaming gear yesterday, but I simply cannot go a week without a Monster Hunter live stream, can you?
I thought so. In that case, tune in to twitch.tv/capcomunity at 2pm PT – which is right before our lovely Dustforce stream !! Also, we’ll be at Help D Lobby 10 if you wanna join me in a couple of quests.
See some ultra S-Ranked, extremely high level play that puts all of us at Unity to absolute shame [UPDATED with YouTube archive for your viewing pleasure!]
Okay, sorry if that headline is a little confusing, but I’m a bit excited here. “Who’s to say what quantifies ‘the best’ gameplay footage? That’s totally subjective, man” you ask? Maybe. But gameplay featuring Dustforce’s best player, is not. Here, see the whole thing below:
Meet Thor, widely regarded throughout the net as Dustforce’s top player (seriously, you see that YouTube tribute Flamboyant made to that guy up there.)
So what we’re going to do in today’s Twitch livestream is throw on Unity’s least experienced Dustforce player (probably Brelston), let him fumble through a specific level like a newborn fawn, then add highly skilled insult to understandable injury by showing Thor’s leaderboard-topping Dustforce runs for comparison. We’re literally going to show you the “best” to “worst” (sorry, Brelston) in the span of seconds, and we think it’s a great way to showcase how much gameplay variety players can get out of Dustforce depending on how they want to play. Join us today at 3pm Pacific, won’t you?!
Dustforce hits PS3, XBLA and PS Vita in Early 2014 for just $10! Head here for more official Dustforce info.
So Google Images search now has this filter where you can narrow it down to just Animated images… and I love the Mega Man X series, so here’s one of the animated GIFs I liked the most.
Well, enjoy your Monday, but try not to stare at X for too long… he will run endlessly, and WILL NOT STOP!
But isn’t it quite a lovely sketch? Very few frames and the occasional shakiness of the hatching lines. Great job Monsieur Pineapple !
One hunter, one Bow and an infinite amount arrows and some miscellaneous items. Apparently, that’s all you need to take down the super powered Brachydios from the event quest Clashing Fists … you know, the one we barely scratched on an older MHMondays stream.
You don’t believe me? Seriously, just watch the video below by German Monster Hunter Ruslan Kondurow (Crona). Note: it’s a 49 minute video!
Yeah, we knew it would take a long time to complete this quest solo, given my experience with these quests taking about 30 minutes with 4 hunters. But it’s still pretty amazing, right?
And just because this was so much fun, check out Fabuchs‘ “Clashing Beats” video:

Fun times… fun deadly, explosive, and pretty obviously frustrating times!
