Yesterday, Nintendo’s official YouTube channel played and talked over some good ol’ Final Fight on the Wii U Virtual Console (video after the jump), and it seemed like a good opportunity to point out that the channel puts up a lot of Virtual Console footage. In the spirit of Throwback Thursday, why not subscribe?
Meanwhile, don’t forget to tune into our Twitch channel today at 4pm PT for our own Throwback stream!

Are you keeping up with the recurring challenges over at Resident Evil.net ? If so, you’re acquiring everything from concept art to actual in-game items… but for the upcoming “2-Team Battle Killcount Challenge 3” event we’d like to sweeten the pot a bit.
Exclusively for Capcom Unity members, visit Resident Evil.net and participate in said event from April 24 to May 12 for a chance to win this rare Ganado Chainsaw figure. To successfully enter:
-The Capcom Unity player who scores the most points in this event will win the figure. If for any reason this person cannot redeem the prize or does not respond to our Capcom Unity PMs by May 19, we will move to the second place player and so on until the prize is given away.
-Open to PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U players
-Prize is only redeemable in North America
-Event text from Resident Evil.net:
Defeat as many creatures as possible as a member of one of two teams while playing Raid mode during the event. (Players are automatically assigned to a team by the system, it is not possible to choose or change teams. Campaign mode not supported)
Only data sent during the Results screen at the end of a stage is valid.
Players are awarded the same place in the event of a tie. No character / weapon / parts / stage / players / creatures / difficulty restrictions. Your event score is displayed under World Records > Online events > Your score
Once we have our winner, we’ll update this page with their name. Good luck!
The fine folks at Fro Design Co have put together some amazing vintage travel posters based off of stages from Street Fighter II. They even included the now defunct Transworld Airlines in the posters, as they were prevalent in the late 80’s, early 90’s. Continue on for more or go here to order .
Hey hunters! We’ve got everything straightened out for a Monster Hunter Freedom Unite MULTIPLAYER live stream, and you should join us! Here’s how:
If you just want to watch us hunt and chat with us, tune in to twitch.tv/capcomunity starting at 4pm PT . But if you want to partake in the hunt…
First of all, get your delightful copy of MHFU on your PSP or PSVita (did you get it while it was FREE for PS+ members?) AND the Adhoc Party app on your PS3. Then look for us at World A Lobby 01 . We’ll set up a room called MHMondays , as we usually do on Mondays… and the occasional Tuesday Edition, lol.
Attention: if you don’t already have Adhoc Party on your PS3, you can only claim it via this link and later download it on you PS3. I know it’s weird, but such is life.
UPDATE: With Amatsumagatsuchi ‘s help, all images are now in a higher resolution and have links to the original artists!
A classy complilation of Monster Hunter monsters dressed for a fancy night, because why not?
Did you know this was a thing? I certainly didn’t! The first time I saw the Mr. Yian Kut-Ku (by NARY ), I thought it was hilarious. Then the Agnaktor below appeared out of nowhere the day after; then the Tigrex, Alatreon and the list goes on below… I realized this was some weird series that deserved to be compiled.
Unfortunately, I found the majority of these through unrelated image searches and despite of all my Google-fu skills I was unable to find the original artists for most of the pieces. I’ll still link to where I found them, but we might never find out who made them.
Now shall we get a silly? The “Prey Gang” above is already a bit goofy, but nothing like these last four. Weirdly enough, these are all on DeviantArt, so you can go say “hi” and compliment the original artists. =)
So that’s all I’ve got! What are your favorites? And more importantly, can you create / find more of these out there on the net? I loved seeing these and would love to see even more! 😉
::EDIT:: Adding in a photoshop’d piece by Obsidian : Sir Barioth!
::EDIT_2:: One more photoshop entry from Michael : Rathalos! Now we’re up to 17 monsters!
::EDIT_3:: Another one! Okay it’ll have to be the last one for now, but please keep ’em coming and I’ll put together another post once I have enough.
If you were curious about that incredible first-place time in yesterday’s Strider Leaderboard Showdown results, our victor, Substylee has uploaded a video showing this record-breaking run.
Pro-tip: how you look always affects the outcome of your quests! LOL
I love when stuff like this happens. Unity member and long-time monster hunter Rock paired up clips of his snazzy Bnahabra suit with 80’s rock tune Sharp Dressed Man and… the results are classy!
I’m not even gonna mention the high-level hunting skills, but note that this video features a selection of familiar faces (?) from the Unity forums… and even footage from Monster Hunter Mondays !
Psst. I got a secret. If you tune into our Twitch channel at 4pm PT today, you might just catch some live Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen gameplay.
Also this game is currently part of our big “Deals with Gold” sale on Xbox LIVE. Pick it up for a vastly reduced price of $14.80 and play along with us!
Wait guys, don’t leave! It’s time for the final round of our Strider Leaderboard Showdown. For this round, we will be doing a Beacon Run on the Xbox 360.
How to Enter:
Step 1: Add our GamerTag “Minish Capcom ” as a Friend on Xbox LIVE.
Step 2: Comment on this post below OR send me a private message on Unity giving your own GamerTag. This is how we know who to badge on Unity.
Step 3: Complete the Beacon Run Challenge “Lab Rat” (Beacon Run #9). Do this before Thursday, April 17th at noon PT to qualify. Your completion time will show up on our Friend-filtered leaderboard.
The player with the fastest completion time will receive a rare and awesome Strider scarf, pictured above. All other entrants will receive the Strider Leaderboard Showdown badge!
If you have yet to unlock Beacon Run #9, it can be found (as a POW icon) in the Research Facility area. I recommend checking this incredibly handy map made by Steam user Sainiku .
Well guys, the results are in for Round 4, which had us Beacon Running through “Street Rat” on the PS3.
Coming in first place with an intimidating completion time of 00:47:06 is SubStylee022. Amazing. Great to see frequent leaderboard champ ShadowBlanka make a showing too, trailing just eighty milliseconds behind.
At any rate, congrats to our winner, and badges for all other participants! Tune back in tomorrow for the start of Round 5 on Xbox 360.
And just so PlayStation fans don’t feel left out at this point, we should remind you that you have two FREE games waiting for you on PS Plus: Remember Me for PS3 and Street Fighter X Tekken for Vita . Does that about cover everyone? Has everybody found a relevant Capcom sale? I hear Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition is 50% off on Uplay in EMEA territories…
