Got a great Capcom gameplay clip? Email us!

Mar 04, 2015 // GregaMan

Here on Capcom Unity, the team and I have been whipping up an experimental new biweekly video feature which will recap recent Capcom news, as well as highlight impressive, informative, fun, and/or hilarious gameplay videos captured by Capcom’s awesome fans.

We feel Capcom’s games, many of which have a prominent exhibitionist element (fighting games, Devil May Cry) as well as a prominent community element (Monster Hunter, Lost Planet, fighting games again), are perfect for this type of recurring feature.

With that said, if you’ve captured a clip of something cool, crazy, interesting, or funny in a Capcom game (old or recent!) and you’d like to be featured on the show, please send an email to  recap@capcom.com  with the following:

-A link to the video–preferably YouTube or Twitch. 720p or 1080p also highly  preferred when possible.
-Your name or nickname (however you want us to credit you).
-A description of why you feel the video is noteworthy, including any relevant timestamps.

Don’t forget that the new-gen consoles let you capture and upload gameplay footage with just a few button-presses, but footage from other consoles is of course welcome!

And that’s the rundown. Can’t wait to see what you guys show us!

Awesome Viewtiful Joe statue coming soon from First 4 Figures

Mar 03, 2015 // Yuri Araujo

If you’re a big fan of Viewtiful Joe and are looking for a v iewtiful way to display your passion for this character, then look no further than First 4 Figures ‘s high-end – and extremely limited – statue!

This premium statue comes out later this year for the SRP of $209.99, but a closer look at all their photos will Slow Down time as they convey the awesome quality level of the statue itself. And considering our buddy Joe hasn’t had a collectible item like this before, I wouldn’t dare wait and risk missing the opportunity.

Some additional neat features include LED lights on his eyes and helmet jewel (and they fade out when turned off) and movie reel stand:

Remember: quantities are extremely limited, so you’d better act on  Mach Speed and guarantee yours before they run out!

And hey, in the statue’s description, they actually say this is the first of their  Capcom All Stars series… can’t wait to see who’s next!

Raid Mode rundown – Episode 2 characters

Mar 03, 2015 // Minish Capcom

Last week we revealed Jill Valentine as one of the surprise cameo characters for RER2’s expansive Raid Mode; today another classic RE hero joins the fray, plus some Terra Save characters you’ll meet while playing Revelations 2 Episode 2.

When you obtain Episode 2, you’ll be able to play as or unlock the following characters:

Pedro

Gabe

Leon

This week’s returning character is Leon S Kennedy, sporting his slick RE6 attire. While he won’t have to deal with a global C Virus dilemma, he will have to scrape through numerous, increasingly difficult Raid Mode maps.

And a quick note to those buying the Throwback Map Pack – these maps count as “Gauntlet IX,” so after you’ve downloaded the map pack, open up Raid Mode and scroll to the bottom of your available gauntlets. The Throwback stages should appear as Gauntlet IX near the bottom of the list.

Episode 2 kicks off this week, with Episodes 3 and 4 to come in March!

Rare Japanese DmC song downloadable here

Mar 02, 2015 // GregaMan

Many moons ago, we received an inquiry on the DmC forum asking for information on the song used in a Japanese trailer for DmC. Though intended primarily for Japan’s audience, the trailer and the song captured a great deal of attention overseas, though info regarding the tune was evidently scarce.

I’m sorry to say that the forum inquiry went by unnoticed by staff here until quite recently, when DmC: Definitive Edition Producer/good samaritan Rey Jimenez stumbled upon it and did some digging. Thanks to him, I am now able to not only tell you about the song, but also give it to you as a free download, complete with lyrics!

DOWNLOAD

The song, entitled “The Roar Within,”   was composed by veteran Capcom musicman Tetsuya Shibata, who worked extensively as a composer on the original  Devil May Cry  series, with lyrics by Donna Burke, who is recently notable for her contributions to  Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.  Amazingly, the song was composed exclusively for DmC’s TGS 2011 trailer, and has appeared nowhere else since.

Donna Burke

Shibata-san now has his own company, Unique Note , but retains a relationship with Capcom, as evidenced by “The Roar Within.”

T etsuya Shibata

And there you have it. Apologies for the extremely long wait, but I’m very happy to now be able to bring you this info as well as the song itself. Big thanks to Rey Jimenez for facilitating this, the Japan staff for sending over the info and song, and the curious fans for continually pestering us about this!

New Dead Rising movie footage helps keep the hunger in check

Mar 02, 2015 // GregaMan

If January’s teaser trailer for the upcoming live action Dead Rising flick,  Dead Rising: Watchtower  left you hungry and shambling for more like the proverbial undead, you’ll definitely want to check out the latest new footage, brought to us courtesy of Fangoria .

Quoth Fangoria:

While most horror fans are understandably skeptical of video game adaptations within the genre, the first trailer for DEAD RISING: WATCHTOWER has definitely helped to silence skeptics.

[…]

As you can tell from the above clip, WATCHTOWER doesn’t seem to be as grievously dour as THE WALKING DEAD; instead, the film looks to be capturing the panic-filled atmosphere and the fun bloodshed of the game in proper form.”

Phew, that’s a relief, amirite??

DR: Watchtower  promises to be a fun-filled gorefest refreshingly faithful to its source material when it launches as a Crackle exclusive on March 27th. Can’t wait!
