Monster hunters, cosplayers, cosplay hunters, and cosplaying cats. If you fall under one of these categories (maybe not so much the last one) and you’re attending Anime Expo 2014 early next month, you should definitely keep an eye out for this gathering:
As it turns out, last year we were at Anime Expo showing off Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Ace Attorney Phoenix Wright Dual Destinies and we happened to catch an amazing gathering of Monster Hunter cosplayers. You can see tooooooons of pictures here.
This year, the same awesome group is gearing up for another meet-up! You can see all the details on this post, or hit up Kinokashi for more info (she’s the one that has made upwards of 6 armor sets already!).
The meet-up will happen at Anime Expo (Los Angeles Convention Center) on July 5th, which is the third day of the show. Again, check the post for full details .
Sadly, we won’t be there this year (I know, I know =/ ), but I’m counting on whoever attends to take lots of pictures for the blog. =)
How’s this for an idea: listed to Capcom game music through Capcom themed speakers. Sounds good?
The picture above was taken by one of our awesome moderators Zonic , but rest assured that the one I have here is sealed. =)
Anyways, 200 Unity points and this pair of collapsible Capcom speakers could be yours! But you only have until Monday to buy raffle tickets . Good luck!
You know what’s just as awesome as our life-size Gore Magala statue? This video showing how it was made!
As you can see, Frank Ippolito and his team put a lot of thought and hard work on this project, and the results are simply amazing! You have to see this in person to get the true feeling of how awesome this Gore Magala statue is… and I’m happy to confirm that we’ll be taking this monstruous sculpture to San Diego Comic Con !
And I just wanted to leave a big thanks to the guys at Tested.com for working on this making of video!
::Update:: If you’re new to Steam, be aware that their “daily deals” typically last, in actuality, for 48 hours, though they are only advertised for the first twenty-four. So you’ve got a little more time to snap this up!
The great news continues today for Dead Rising fans. If you’re eagerly anticipating the release of the million-selling Dead Rising 3 on PC, you’ll definitely want to jump on today’s 24-Hour Steam Sale , which knocks a whopping 25% off the game’s pre-order price, but just for the next 24 hours. That also of course means that, as of now, you can pre-order the game!
Meanwhile, I can happily confirm that the PC version will release on September 5 th , 2014 for $49.99. With today’s discount, that means you can pick it up for $37.49. This is absolutely the time to buy.
For the deeply curious, we also have some more great information and footage over on Steam regarding the game’s system requirements, frame rate, and performance.
Round 10… SING! By now you should have already listened to at least one of Smooth McGroove’s a capella renditions of classic Capcom tunes – they’re all amazing! The latest addition to his repertoire is Ryu’s theme from Street Fighter II .
Yep, this is his 10th Capcom a capella arrangement and, just like the other ones, it is sooooo good! Speaking of the other ones, here’s a little recap list for you:
Nero surveys some seriously high time in this mellow depiction from deviantARTist Abricardo (full image after jump). Good work, Abricardo! Let’s all give him a glowing, devil-bringing hand.
Saw this very stylish Zinogre fan art and just had to share it immediately! I’m loving the way the colors blend into one another and the fuild line art. What do you think?
If you like it as much as I did, please consider going over to Fervore’s page and leaving a nice comment. =)
Who’s hype for Ultra on the PC? I know it’s a little ways away, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t put your preorder in.
Continue on to see which of your favorite retailers are carrying the Ultra SFIV PC preorder. Some of them might even have additional deals going on if you preorder the game right now!
Check below if you can preorder Ultra at your favorite retailer. Remember, the digital upgrade for PC will be available for $14.99 whereas the full digital download will be available for $29.99.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate expands the monster class list with the addition of Amphibians . The first one you’ll encounter is the Tetsucabra! This monster uses its super strong jaws and tusks to pick up boulders and use them in very brutal ways…
On the offensive side, the Tetsucabra will carry a giant rock in its mouth, approach its prey and smash it, scattering rock fragments in a short blast radius, knocking the enemies away. And let’s not forget that strong hind legs let this monster jump really high, which makes it a real threat in MH4U ’s very vertical maps.
SMASH!
Another interesting use of boulders is when the Tetsucabra places an extra-large rock right in front of its face. This is particularly advantageous to it in the more enclosed zones of the Sunken Hollow . The boulder will act as a temporary shield, stopping your arrows, bullets and making your melee attacks will bounce back, interrupting your combos. This can leave you open just long enough for you to get charged down, so watch out!
Since we had this monster playable at E3 last week, you can catch gameplay of all this and some other shenanigans on our Twitch archives [ Day 1 ] [ Day 2 ] [ Nintendo ] [ Day 3 ].
Check out other MH4U monsters right here:
Stay tuned to the blog for more Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate monster scoops !
I can’t think of a better way for those looking to get into the SFIV series, to finally be able to do so. And don’t forget, anyone who downloads SSFIVAE will be just one step away from getting Ultra !!
Wait, there’s more!!! During this time, Gold members can also receive exclusive deals on both the Ultra Costume Pack and Super Costume Pack . Normally priced at $17.99, each of them are available for $8.99 (50% off).
So grab AE while you can and make sure that your characters look as fresh as possible before you get Ultra . What’s the point of beating down the competition, if you can’t do it in style?
We’re back in the office, and I see plenty of giveaways here; so time to get back to our regular raffles!
Since we just got back from E3 , let me try and do a little play on words/numbers here and offer this up for only 30 Unity points… did that work? Anyways, head on to the raffle page to get your tickets for this lovely charm !
