In this interview he shared some insight on what it’s been like to work with members of the game’s original development team, some of the challenges the team encountered during the remaster process and why the team chose to use the Resident Evil 5 version of Wesker for the new Wesker Mode you can unlock in the game. As we near the end of 2015 there’s one thing we can all look forward to…no, it’s not the holidays, but Capcom Cup! That’s right; this year’s Capcom Cup will send Ultra Street Fighter IV off in the grandest event possible as 32 of the world’s best meet in San Francisco at the PlayStation Experience on December 6 th to fight for their piece of the $250,000 prize pool!
If you have been following the Capcom Pro Tour, then you know that players from around the world have been traveling from country to country, continent to continent, trying to secure their spot at Capcom Cup or gather enough points for one of the 15 spots available in the 32 man finals. Now that the dust is just about settled (with the last spot to be decided at Dreamhack Winter this November 26 th-29th ) Capcom Cup 2015 is shaping up to be the greatest competitive Street Fighter tournament of the last decade!
For those of you wondering what the schedule, bracket format, and prize distribution for Capcom Cup is, allow me to provide that information below:
Payout
1st : $125,000
2nd : $60,000
3rd : $25,000
4th : $15,000
5th/6th : $10,000 (each)

The bracket will be double elimination, best two out of three matches up to top 16. From there, all matches will be best three out of five.
With 32 of the world’s best Street Fighter players all under one roof, we expect every single match to be beyond hype. That said, this year we’ll have two streams available for those of you watching from home so that you won’t miss any of the high profile matches going down! We recommend viewers tune into the Capcom Pro Tour site for the ultimate experience as they will be able to follow both streams as well as the Capcom Cup brackets once the action goes live.
Tickets are still on sale at the PSX 2015 site , so if you can make it to San Francisco during that time be sure to come! Remember you’ll need to buy either the 2 day pass or the Sunday Only pass in order to watch Capcom Cup.
Needless to say, after this year’s extensive and challenging Capcom Pro Tour season, there will be no disputing that this year’s Capcom Cup champion is the best player in the world! Make sure to check back in closer to Capcom Cup as I’ll provide more information on what to expect when it’s time to watch the finals.
We already knew Monster Hunter was a cultural phenomenon in Japan, but this is reaching a whole other level: the latest Toyota commercial features MH music, monsters, license plates and even a very familiar setting!
Frankly, I never thought I’d see an official TV ad for a car to the tune of Monster Hunter music – though I have driven to that sound before and it was super epic! 😉
Earlier this year, we introduced a whole new way of playing Resident Evil, by delivering an episodic experience filled with horror and suspense! Today, we want to offer you an enticing entry point by giving out Episode 1 for FREE on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4!
Starting today, you can begin this dramatic entry in the Resident Evil series for free, filling the shoes of fan favorites Claire Redfield and Barry Burton, as they try to survive an abandoned detention facility. After you finish Episode 1, you can continue your battle for survival by purchasing each subsequent episode individually… or you can get them all bundled together in this sweet deal:
This digital Deluxe Edition is available now and it features the following content:
All main story Episodes (1 – 4)
All Extra Episodes (1 – 2)
All DLC (Costumes, Raid Mode characters, Maps, etc.)
If you buy all of these items individually, it will run you over $80… However, with the Deluxe Edition, you’ll get all of it for just $29.99 !
Also, if you have a Gold Xbox Live account and buy the digital Deluxe Edition on Xbox One before November 24th, you’ll get a 25% discount. And for the Xbox 360 players, we’re also offering a 40% discount on the Season Pass (until November 24th).
All in all, between Episode 1 being free and the digital Deluxe Edition offering some massive savings, I’d say it’s the perfect time to jump and try out RE Revelations 2, if you haven’t done so already.
Hey everyone, as you may all know, our goal with Street Fighter V is to make this the most accessible Street Fighter in recent years! As you’ll see, this video also provides a glimpse into some of Ryu and Ken’s backstory. This is just a sample of things to come, so be on the lookout for more information down the road.

Hey everyone, it is my pleasure to introduce to you two new team members that will be joining the Capcom Unity team; so before you read the next Mega Man or Resident Evil post and think to yourself “who hijacked the Unity blog!?”, please take a quick second and meet the new guys: Kellen and Harrison !
First off, you should know that these guys have actually been working here at Capcom for quite some time now! Kellen, for example, has been helping us out on the customer service front, while Harrison has been assisting with video editing and streaming (mostly) behind the scenes! All that is to say that they kinda know you a little bit already, but here’s a little blurb from each of them so you get to know what they’re all about:
Hey everyone! As Yuri already said up there, I come from the customer service side of things, and while I’ve already been working with this team for quite a while, it’s a real privilege to join the community team here at Capcom. Capcom games have been a big part of my life since childhood, and from the first time I played Ghosts n’ Goblins at the local roller skate rink as a little kid, I knew I was hooked to that unique feel that Capcom games always bring. That’s a story for another time though! I’ve found a lot to love from Capcom over the years, from classics like Forgotten Worlds (which hopefully isn’t a forgotten game ), Mercs, and, of course, Mega Man, to modern masterpieces like Okami, God Hand, Dead Rising, and my personal favorites, the Ace Attorney series. You’ll be seeing a lot more from me in the future, so keep an eye out!
Hey guys, wanted to take the time and introduce myself to the people who might not have seen me around yet. I started playing Street Fighter back in ‘09 and played competitively. During that time I also helped run tournaments to grow our local scene at Starbase Arcade in northern California. While I enjoyed competing, being behind the scenes was more of what I wanted to do so I put full focus on producing live events. After running my own events for a while and helping others with their own, I was asked to work at the Street Fighter 25th anniversary tournament. This led to working with Capcom at Capcom Cup and various other events which eventually resulted in joining Capcom officially earlier this year. I’m excited to be helping give you the updates for Resident Evil and other projects. Even though Street Fighter has been so important to me the last few years, Resident Evil 4 is one of my favorite games off all time and I’m glad to be part of a franchise and company that has always been such a big part of my life!

Of course, you can still expect to see me covering all things Monster Hunter as well as Combofiend and Haunts taking care of all the hot Street Fighter news. One change to note, however, is that GregaMan is actually now directly helping out with development here. So while he may be a little quieter on the blog fronts, he’s still around and now has his hands busy on some really exciting stuff! Rest assured that you will still see him from time to time as I’ll definitely be snatching him away for a live stream or two! 😉
Anyways, bringing Kellen and Harrison to the team is just the first step, so please take a moment to say “hi” and make them feel at home. We actually have some really cool changes coming up on the Unity front for the coming months; so stay tuned. =)
Hey everyone, we’re going to start a stress test for SFV on PS4 shortly (4pm PST). For those interested in participating, please be sure to delete your current build of the SFV beta on your PS4 and download it again. This will give you the most up to date version and allow access.
Have fun with the latest and greatest and remember that everything is still in development!
