The patches that our SF3:3s and MVC:O fans have been waiting for is finally live. The PSN patch is currently live, with the XboxLive version coming soon. Keep on reading for an in depth breakdown as to what these patches contain.
We have successfully migrated all the netcode improvements from MvCO and Darkstalkers to 3SOE, and in our tests the game behaves identical to those in the wild.
We replaced ping colors with numbers (in milliseconds).
Added filters for region (your current region, or all), opponent skill, and ping. It’s worth noting that the game will still return you matches that don’t match this criteria if none matching your criteria are found.
When creating a lobby you can make it so only people in your region can join.
Fixed the problem with the order of the lobby getting jumbled when people ready up.
Can “Mute All” on PS3 now.
Rank should, in theory, never get reset to 0. If your rank is currently 0 you will be stuck that way, however.
Moved ready/unready to separate buttons.
Leaderboards get updated faster/more reliably on PS3.
YouTube uploads on 360 will now be at 360p.
Defaulted Gill to “banned” in Player Match.
These fixes aren’t online specific, but these are on the list because they were either relatively easy to implement or things we deemed “must fixes” (like the super art meter length).
Super Art bars are now the correct length.
Can now turn off the Challenge bars on the in-game UI.
Added “Disable Stun” to training options.
We now remember the super art selected in player select, and default to that selection when you return to player select. It doesn’t auto-pick it, just highlights it.
Difficulty now affects Arcade Mode.
Fixed visual glitch in Remy’s Stage with scan lines on.
Fixed color for Urien’s Reflector (P2).
Fixed color for Poison (P2).
Made some changes to how Ryu’s bag falls over.
Fixed some random locks/hangs.
Added color bars by the character portraits on the UI that match the major colors selected by the player.
The MVC:O patch brings forth better matchmaking (similar to that of DSR) as well quite a few miscellaneous fixes.
There aren’t that many Monster Hunter animated GIFs out there, and few of them are this nostalgic! Behold the Yian Kut Ku !
I remember jumping from my couch when I saw this last night, and knew I had to share it ASAP. Here’s to the great memories of hunting Yian Kut Kus, and to the future memories we’ll create early next year. 😉
Or more accurately: One Dusforce Level, One GIANT screenshot
There’s a reason it gets to wear the Indie Darling badge proudly when it struts around PSN (and XBLA very soon.) It’s because Dustforce is a lovely, quirky little thing, but we know its charm is a tad difficult to soak in a thumbnailed series of standard, static screenshots. So for those of you who haven’t given one of our wonderful Dustforce videos a look, we wanted you to take a look at all the things you can do in Dustforce. So click this and EMBIGGEN the hell out of it:
S top staring and CLICK! (Magnify the left center)
This here’s “Security” just one of Dustforce’s +50 stages, and we though it provided a neat little glance at all the things these little janitorial warriors can do. Also keep in mind that this is one of the first Laboratory levels (not hard) and can be completed in anywhere between one minute to 30 seconds (if you’re pro.) How are you guys faring on the PSN Leaderboards anyway?
As noted by Chris in his outstanding retrospective article , several PC digital distributors have put up their pre-order pages for Strider . Why would you want to pre-order a digital game? Because it’ll earn you some sweet bonuses!
The following PC digital distributors are offering a Strider digital soundtrack and exclusive concept art bundle when you pre-order the game ($14.99).
Remember, the game launches on PC next Wednesday, February 19th! If you’re curious about that soundtrack, make sure you check the comparison we did a few weeks ago.
Though his name refers to the Blue Bomber, Mega Ran often pays homage to games and culture outside the year 200X. His latest song tips a hat to the most famous World Warrior of them all, Ryu.
Just be warned, I’ve taken a look at all questions and they’re exactly as they said on the contest page “ranging in difficulty from Prescription Pick-Up to Clashing Fists”.
Can’t say I know even most of the answers… so I guess I should probably go back to MH school, with Professor Yian Kut Ku, right?
There’s a massive sale in progress right now on Steam, knocking up to 75% off DLC for a bevy of Capcom PC titles, like DmC, Resident Evil 6, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, and much more!
Vergil’s Downfall for $2.24?! More like price’s downfall! Feel free to Tweet that.
Dead Rising 3 players, be sure to log into Xbox LIVE today, because the game’s second add-on, “Fallen Angel,” is up today for $9.99. Treat yourself to a slew of new weapons, Gamerscore, and PP that all carry over into the main game.
Don’t forget, you can also get a deal by grabbing the Season Pass, which entitles you to all four add-on chapters for $29.99. Haven’t picked up the game yet? Try before you buy with the playable demo, downloadable on your Xbox One.
Good news, everyone! With the release of Strider just a week away (2/18 – PS3, PS4 | 2/19 – Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC), Producers Andrew Szymanski and James Vance have agreed to join us for an exclusive Live View Q&A right here on Unity!
We’ve done these in the past for other titles, but in case you’re new to the concept, basically what we’ll do is turn one thread of our Strider forum into a live chat for an hour so the producers can field some of your burning questions pertaining to the game.
The event will occur this Thursday, February 13th, 6-7pm PT. See the event thread for full details and ground rules. That thread will remain locked until the event begins, but if you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to leave them in the comments below or via private message to me.
Still Stridin’ after all these years! Follow Strider Hiryu from his 1989 arcade debut, through his numerous Capcom cameos, to his 2014 return in our exclusive video retrospective…
Strider’s one of the most iconic characters in all of gamedom, and that’s not even the most impressive thing about him. Nay, the most truly impressive thing about Strider is that he’s remained in the hearts of gamers for over twenty-five years even through he’s technically only starred in THREE GAMES ! (Some claim more or less. Watch the vid first then chime in below) But perhaps that, and of course some extremely memorable cameos, are all Mr. Hiryu needed to solidify himself among the gaming greats. We tried to celebrate the famous purple ninja’s legacy using EVERY in-game appearance he’s ever had in honor of Strider’s return to consoles starting February 18th.
