All right Strider players–it’s time to prove your mettle. Starting exactly now and ending next Monday, March 17th at noon PT, we will hold our first Strider Leaderboard Showdown.
This week’s round, Round 1, will take place on the PlayStation 4. To participate, simply add our PSN ID (Capcom_Unity) as a friend on PSN and clear the game on Normal mode. Then please tell us your PSN ID here in the comments or in a private message to me. This is so we are able to issue your badges.
Come next Monday, we’ll check the leaderboard for Clear Time (Normal) filtered by our friends, and reward the player with the best time with one of the stylish, Striderific scarves being modeled by Brelston above.
All other participants will receive this snazzy Strider badge
designed by Unity’s own .killa.! Just make sure I have your PSN ID if you want one.
And that’s it! We will of course do the other versions of the game in coming weeks, so never fear if you’re not a PS4 player. To the rest of you: good luck!

I’m pretty sure anyone readying this post has to have watched SF: The Movie. And, I’m pretty sure we all wonder “what happened to a movie that had so much potential?”
The fine folks at Polygon have delved into this topic, speaking with the writer of SF:TM Stephen De Souza about his experience on the set with the cast during the filming of the movie. You can read the story here .

Time’s up! You had a solid week to submit entries for our #SaluteSigma challenge , and we’ve got a winner (plus some great additional entries) to share.

Our winning image comes from Tabitha ” Digitally Fanged ” Ramsey. This striking pose shows Sigma tossing away his signature cape, likely preparing for battle or perhaps some kind of messy dinner. Can’t get sauce on that fabric, man!
Congrats – we’ll get the statue out to you this month.
I also really enjoyed this YouTube tribute from Darkhawk (no relation to Marvel’s Darkhawk , I assume), which splices Sigma’s many appearances into one video, and set to an aggressive WWE track.
Other entries:

Hit up the #SaluteSigma tag for even more. And tell ya what – anyone who submitted a piece of art by March 7 can ping me here on Unity and I’ll send ya a MM25 pin 🙂

While Guile’s Theme goes with Everything , I have a feeling Mega Man 2 Dr. Wily Stage 1 takes the prize for most covered Capcom tune… and I love it!
It’s such an awesome tune and the main riffs lend themselves so well to guitar (or sax ) covers… I’ll say no more, enjoy the video below and let me know what you think:
PS: I definitely love the little improv-style section in the middle. Nice touch.

UPDATE: The stream is over but the archive is already on YouTube , and embedded below:
Hunters, as you already know today is Monday… so that means Monster Hunter Mondays at 3PM (Pacific) at twitch.tv/capcomunity – Help D Lobby 10 if you wanna join us.
See you there!

If you missed our Sigma contest (or, going back a ways, our Project X Zone contest ) but still want to flex your artistic talent, check out AWD’s ” Mega Man gender swap challenge ,” which tasks artists with inventing a new look for the robo-cast. Cut Woman? Splash Man? All are on the table!
You can read the guidelines here , and after perusing AWD’s Twitter page I’ve found a few images already in the running:
Needle Woman (Kirbopher)

Sheep Woman (Rongs1234)

Auto (Jaxamoto)

Love these! Will definitely be following up to see all the entries. Going back a ways, this reminds me of a 2012 piece that made the rounds .
Be sure to hit up AWD if you have further questions!

When I first started here at Capcom, one of the main things I was interested in was bringing the fighting games to the masses. Luckily for me, the team here and Twitch share similar aspirations. It’s these aspirations that have culminated with the creation of the Capcom Pro Tour. Continue below for the official annoucement
The most celebrated fighting game franchise of all time is coming together with the world’s leading video platform and community for gamers. Announced today, Capcom and Twitch are collaborating to deliver the Capcom Pro Tour, the first ever Street Fighter-focused fighting game league. Comprised of a combination of premier events, ranking tournaments, and online tournaments, the Capcom Pro Tour establishes a year-long foundation for the fighting game community, culminating with the grand finals at the Capcom Cup this December.
The goal of the Capcom Pro Tour is to provide an infrastructure which helps support tournament organizers, while delivering increased production values, supplementary video content, and new opportunities for players, content creators and sponsors. The tour will focus solely on the Street Fighter IV series, with the early portion of the tour featuring Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, then transitioning to Ultra Street Fighter IV after it releases in June.
A total of 16 spots will be available at the Capcom Cup this year, and there are two different ways that players can qualify. Players who win a premier event will instantly qualify, and the remaining spots will be determined using a new point structure which tracks the rankings of players that compete in the tour.
The current line-up of premier events includes:
There will be a total of 10 premier events in the Capcom Pro Tour, and the remaining 6 spots will be determined using the point structure. All premier events retain their independence and core values, and will be collaborating with Capcom and Twitch to deliver the Street Fighter live streams via the Capcom Fighters Twitch channel . More details about the three additional premier events will be announced at a later date.
Points will be awarded to the top 16 placements at both premier events and ranking events. Ranking events are comprised of both trade shows and independent tournaments which are managed and streamed separately from the Capcom Pro Tour. Tournament organizers may apply to become a ranking event by emailing: capcomprotour@capcom.com
The current line-up of ranking events includes:
Points will be awarded to SoCal Regional placements retroactively, and more details about additional ranking events will be announced at a later date.
Fighting game fans and players can keep track of the action and receive all of the latest news and information at the official Capcom Pro Tour website: www.capcomprotour.com .

” Monster Hunter: the game where you not only sharpen your hammer, but do so, with a fish. ” – ROCKHOUND1
So here’s some of my favorite Monster Hunter logic gems you guys shared, as well as the 2 WINNERS!
” Let me just reload my AXE. ” – Jonas
” Gunlance holds infinite amount of gunshells until you reach red sharpness. ” – RAMAR
” Hit by a wyvern? Eh. Hit by a pig? You’re sent flying ” – Jake
” My favorite bit of Monster Hunter logic is that you can listen to a short song from a Hunting Horn, and instantly be healed, get various buffs, or even have infinite stamina for a short time! Makes you wonder what would happen if someone played “Eye of the Tiger” on one of those horns. ” – David
” I just had a good meal…it was so good, in fact…that it’s changed reality!!! Monsters are now guaranteed to be gigantic! I make more money for the same amount of work! and I’m immune to ailments!!! ” – Andrew
Not sure if I agree with Gunflame ‘s definition of “real life”, but I think I get his point:

Before we get to the winners, check out this little video that DeadeyeDave put together on Flipnote. Simply amazing!
And finally, congratulations to the two winners for the following (hilarious) observations and winning these very logically sound blind boxes :
” Thanks for saving the village from that Qurupeco, I don’t think we could’ve survived without you!
Hmm? It called a deviljho?
Nah don’t worry we can take care of that ourselves, your quest is complete. ” – dogcereal
” Tigrex is weak to ice; goes snowy mountains and tundra by choice ” – Dean
And that’s that! This was a fun contest; thanks everyone for participating! There were so many hilarious comments, and I’m actually sad I had to cut some of them, so please feel free to go through the comment section on the original contest post.
Thanks MrWezzle for creating the header image, and with it, making it to my Top 10 list =P

And I must add: for a speed-painting, this looks very detailed! Great job RJ Palmer!
Before I start rambling about art and Monster Hunter, why don’t I leave that part to you? What do you like most about this painting?
I sure love lighting and the ambiance that it creates… but it’s worth noting that the artist himself wrote this in the decription:
That hunter deserves his fate, bringing a fire weapon to a Rathalos fight…
