Cracked has an interesting tongue-in-cheek story up that talks about the evolution of zombies in movies and video games. Sure enough, both the original Resident Evil and Resident Evil 5 are featured as prime examples of the classic slow-moving zombies and the more recent, motorcycling variety, respectively. It’s interesting to see how the zombies have evolved in mainstream media to fit the needs of a mass audience and how insanely popular they have become in recent years.

With all the changes being made every few years, I guess all there is to ask is: what’s next in their evolution?
