SF25 Art and Music Shoutout: Part 3 – PARTY CAKES

Sep 06, 2012 // Chris

Long story short: We asked you folks to submit art and music for the upcoming Street Fighter 25 th Anniversary Collector’s Set , we received way too many, so we’re posting them here periodically . Last week we celebrated Street Fighter’s 25th birthday with a painstakingly thorough Ryu retrospective . This week? YUMMY CAKE!

In the immortal words of the animated Bison, “THIS IS DELICIOUS!”

Cake is the universally beloved symbol of anything worth celebrating, so even characters who beat each other senseless for a living fall to their knees in the face of this confectionary delight. I guess what we’re saying is a lot of people submitted SF25 tribute art featuring birthday cakes:

See? But wait, there’s more!

Technically, Morrigan’s only about 18, but I might’ve found my new Twitter avatar in Jonathan Chanutomo’ adorably smitten Ryu!

Thanks everyone! We’re also taking a moment to shine a spotlight on the fan-created SF remixes that we didn’t have enough room to include on the Street Fighter Soundtrack included in the Collector’s Set. This submission from Joel “Jivemaster” Bird mashes up the Street Fighter 2 title screen theme and the original “Rock the Asphalt” mix from the ” Blood on the Asphalt” OCReMix album .

More importantly, and I do not mean this as an insult, if all the Street Fighter characters were to gather at a Chuck E. Cheese for a badass birthday blowout, this is the music I imagine would underscore a montage of skeeball tickets, ballpits and singin’ robots. Thanks again to everyone who submitted.
