New Versus Mode for Monster Hunter Frontier is Crazy Fun

Jun 24, 2010 // Snow

Once again, I’m bringing you news for the game you can’t have: Monster Hunter Frontier. Monster Hunter Frontier is continuously updated in Japan, and it’s getting a new mode. A Versus Mode, to be more specific. I know what you’re thinking, ” Versus Mode? In Monster Hunter? No…”  But, it’s true, and it’s really fun. Details all about it the new mode are below, including of a video of two teams of hunters going head to head.

Two parties fight in the same quest, hunting down the same monster in the same area. Whichever team completes the quest the fastest gets exclusive armors and weapons. Watch the video (click here) right now to see what I mean.

There are eight hunter names shown on the screen, you can see their chats and identify them on the map too. You even see a floating (¡) icon of the other teams players in your own quest so you can see where they are at in theirs. These VS quests are only available for those who are middle rank and higher, not available for newbies. The higher your HR is, the more quests you can receive. When you receive Quests, you can choose the conditions such as the number of players, contracts(VS Quest Bonus/VS tickets), Hunting team, and the times of utilizing invalidity. There are even some items that you can use against the opposing team to interrupt them, like shock traps, barrels, farcaster, flash trap, dung trap (sounds interesting), etc.

Overall, sounds like a really crazy and fun new mode for the Monster Hunter series. Let us know what you think of it in the comments!

Check it out on the Monster Hunter Frontier page.
