Ninja Theory turned a lot of heads with their reimagining of the Vergil character in  DmC  (to say nothing of the reaction to Dante, of course), but the following video reveals just how faithfully they recreated the original character’s moveset from  Devil May Cry 3  when making Vergil a playable character in the DLC expansion Vergil’s Downfall .  

It’s fascinating to see how  DmC’s  Vergil pays homage to the classic with varying degrees of subtlety, even reworking the Force Edge and Beowulf moves of yore as Yamato moves, since new Vergil relies solely on his trusty katana.
