The Magic Behind Capcom Games: MT Framework 2.0
Jun 16, 2009 // s-kill
Capcom is known for having some of the best-looking games in the business, and a big part of that magic is the award-winning game engine, known as “MT Framework.”
MT has been through a number of iterations, powering games like Lost Planet, Dead Rising, and Devil May Cry 4, but even the gorgeous Resident Evil 5 was only version 1.4. The grand unveiling of MT Framework 2.0 will be on Lost Planet 2.
This game looks so much better up close than in videos, with tons of incredible touches like the plants billowing in the wind, and reacting dynamically to pressure from gunshots and explosions. As in every piece of grass moves under it’s own physics. It’s all nerd talk until you see it in action, where it’s actually kind of breathtaking.
Some of the original articles’ content is split up across Kombo and Andriasang , so they’re both worth a read, or for the Japanese speaking audience, there whole enchilada can be found here .
