The Eagle has Landed

Jan 08, 2008 // s-kill

Okay, there’s no eagle. But we’ve got better–a birdman! A Harvey Birdman. Yes, Harvey Biiiiiiiiirdman lands someplace near near you today. In a shocking turn of events, we here at the official Capcom blog (yes I am linking back to myself, so what?) think it might be worth your time. Like, actually. Read on for exactly why. The writing in this game is pure Harvey, which is no surprise, as it was written by the same guys that wrote the show. It also features the show’s vocal talent from Lewis Black, Gary Cole, Peter MacNicol, Thomas Allen, and more, so anyone that laughed at the series and wants moar! , this game is like uncovering a whole batch of lost episodes, with the added feature that you can actually play them as they unfold. It’s got plenty of special spice in the form of Capcom cameos, jokes about being a game, jokes about jokes, and of course, an inexplicable bear . Here’s a quote from PSP Fanboy , who just played through the PSP version (duh) of the game (which is also available for the Wii and PS2):

“In spite of its simplistic gameplay and short length, we can’t help but love Harvey Birdman. The game is outrageously funny, and the plentiful Street Fighter cameos and references were a surprising, much appreciated touch. Adventures like these aren’t defined by their gameplay, but rather their characters and presentation. Undeniably, Harvey Birdman delivers both in spades. It’s not a bad thing for a game to have us wanting more — we certainly want a sequel as soon as possible. If you’re looking for a hilarious, well produced adventure on the PSP, we recommend Harvey Birdman.”

Check out some more Birdman fun over at the game’s official site , or just buy it now –it’s the hardest you’ll laugh with any game this year.
