Wondering what changes were highly requested for the SSF4 update across the ocean? Well Ayano-san is back this week with another update of what was highly requested. You can read the blog in all its glory below.

The final count is in, and I’m proud to announce the results of the SSFIV balance update votes. The most requests came for system-related aspects, while Yang, Ryu and Chun-li received the most individual balance requests.

This week I’m going to review some of the most requested changes from our fellow gamers, but remember, just because we’re posting them doesn’t mean they’re going to be in the final version of the game. We’re using everything as reference and making sure they fit with the ideas that we have for the game.
Dudley
Please add invincibility to his MP Jet Upper. But to keep things fair, I think that he shouldn’t be allowed to focus cancel his EX Jet Upper when it’s blocked. Also, Dudley’s walking speed is different if you compare SFxTK and SF4. In order to improve Dudley’s ground game it’d be awesome if you can boost his movement speed. Finally, I think letting Dudley cancel his Victory Rose at the cost of some meter to allow him to perform some awesome combos wouldn’t be so bad. You can even add an EX Victory Rose that would work like the 3 rd Strike version.
Ayano: we’ve had many requests to add some invincibility to his MP Jet Upper, make Victory Rose useful and to make his Thunderbolt attack more viable. We’re sad to hear that players think some of Dudley’s moves don’t have much utility, so we’re going to tweak him to make him an overall better character.
Juri
Please make her crouching MK come out in 5 frames. Combos like LK -> LK -> MK Senpusha and LK -> close standing MP doesn’t hit on certain characters. If even beginners can hit combos like LK -> LK -> MK easily, then they’ll be able to have safer combos to use.
Oh, and finally, please add a costume where she has her hair down!
Ayano: lots of fans are asking for Juri’s crouching MK to come out faster, to expand the hitbox on Kaisen Dankairaku and to decrease the time on the Feng Shui Engine. We’ll take everyone’s thoughts into account when we’re updating Juri.
Cody
I totally believe Cody has a huge disadvantage against the current top tier, and characters that have strong wake-up games like Cammy and Akuma. I have no problems with his damage output and he’s a pretty awesome character, but I just feel that he’s weak once he gets knocked down and can’t do anything. I think it’d be great if you could buff his backdash to help alleviate this problem.
Ayano: a lot of Cody fans in Japan have been asking for a better backdash, faster movement or lower stun. Just about every character in the game has problems when it comes to wake-up games, so we’re going to look into fixing that aspect of the game, and that’s not limited to just Cody!
Sagat
This guy should not be allowed a free hit when his Tiger Uppercut trades. I think it’ll solve a lot of problems if Sagat was launched up or sideways on a trade. Please fix other uppercut moves so that they operate in a similar fashion. I think using focus cancels or meter for big damage is the proper way to play.
Ayano: your calls for getting rid of a free hit on a Tiger Uppercut trade, making crouching LP slower and having Sagat’s Tiger Destruction Ultra completely hit have been heard. We’ve received a lot of requests about the Tiger Uppercut trade issue, so we’ll take a look at it while balancing other characters.
Fei-long
Ken user here.
Fei’s Rekkas are too dang strong. If you nerf his LP Rekkas then match would change dramatically, so I think you guys should slow down his MP and HP Rekkas by 2 – 3 frames respectively. Frame advantage on hit/block should stay the same. His focus attack/backdash game is so good that it doesn’t even matter when he does it. I think if Fei’s backstep distance was shortened a little or increased by 2 frames, this combined with a slight Rekka nerf would make the overall balance better.
Ayano: fans have been clamoring for nerfs to Fei-long’s Rekka Ken and for Rekkukyaku to lose its invincibility. Fans also want his Shienkyaku throw to be changed. Because a lot of people believe that Fei is strong, there have been calls for an overall nerf of the character, but we’ll make sure to fairly balance the character in the future.
