It might be hard to believe, but even though the upcoming  Strider will be Strider Hiryu’s first starring role in more than a decade, he’s actually had quite a few appearances over the years. In fact, his legacy goes so far back, the country that was one of the main settings for the first game doesn’t even  exist anymore. And that game took place in the  future.  Man!

Anyway, the above image shows the evolution of Hiryu’s design over the years, from crazy-haired pajama man to the slickest ninja ever fathomed. He even allegedly beat Ninja Gaiden’s Hayabusa in a battle to the death . *

So here we are in 2013, poised to receive what I feel is the best Strider game to date. What are  your best Strider memories? Let me know in the comments.
