No matter where you are in PlayStation Home, it’s impossible to travel without spotting someone wearing the latest in Street Fighter IV costumes. Whether it’s the ladies rocking the Chun-Li buns or the guys in the Zangief undies, it’s clear that there are a ton of Street Fighter fans all throughout Home, especially now that it supports Game Launching. But there’s just one problem: without a dedicated space for the game it’s tough finding new friends in which to punch in the face.

It’s time we came up with a solution. It’s time we got hype.

WHAT : A weekly Street Fighter IV game launching event

WHERE : The Mall, 1st Floor at the PlayStation Home logo

WHEN : Every Saturday from 8PM to 12AM PST

Each week we’ll gather the PlayStation Home community at a specific location within the Mall (1st floor at the PlayStation Home logo) and proceed to beat the pants off one another in Street Fighter IV game launching sessions. We’ll meet, greet, make new friends, new enemies and get mad hype.

The first week or so will be simple gatherings, but should these prove to be popular we have plans to expand them to not only include special guests (beyond just your friends here at PlayStation Home), but contests, prizes and perhaps even a tournament. This will be our first true attempt a regularly occurring event, so we’ll see how it goes and take it from there.

All in all, this will be a fantastic opportunity for everyone to meet new friends and competition. If you have friends who play Street Fighter IV on PlayStation Network, please feel free to invite them. Be sure to wear your favorite Street Fighter costume and we’ll see you there!

HOW TO GAME LAUNCH STREET FIGHTER IV VIA PLAYSTATION HOME

Insert the Street Fighter IV game disc into your PlayStation 3. You can do this at any time, regardless of whether you’re already in PlayStation Home or not.

– Once in your desired location, press Start to open the Main Menu

– Select “Game Launching”

– Selcet “Set Up Game”

– Select “Street Fighter IV”

– From here, confirm the session and close the window. You should now see “Street Fighter IV” floating above your head

To join someone else’s game, simply walk up to their avatar, press X to select them and choose to join their game. It’s just that easy!
