GameTrailers has a up a Resident Evil Retrospective that touches on how RE1 got started and defined the Survival Horror genre. It goes through everything from story, music, gameplay, and more. If you’ve never played RE1, this is a good way to catch up on the story before the release of RE5. This is apparently only episode one, so look for more soon re-capping the more from the RE series. 

The video is a bit under 20 minutes, but is totally worth watching whether you’ve played it before or not. You may learn something new with all the in depth information about the game.
