Monster Hunter: Best with Teamwork

Jun 26, 2009 // Snow

Monster Hunter is all about team work when you take the experience online. Some teams have it down to a science, even figuring out the exact location of where a monster will hop in. This video is a perfect example of team work at its best.

So I’ll do a quick run down of what’s happening in the video above. This is a Japanese team of four hunting on a dual Rajang quest on Portable 2ndG (aka Freedom Unite). The camera is on a player who has armor that gives him an adrenaline boost when his health is low which means massive amounts of extra damage when they attack the monster (hence all the bomb exploding on himself). They’ve basically gotten the trap down immediately, then placed a second trap and bombs for it to fall into. When they take care of that one, the other two team mates are laying a pitfall trap and bombs in the exact spot the second Rajang hops in at. They put him to sleep a few times, paralyze him, and done.

Just FYI, this quest takes me about 30 mins or more normally. But with a team of four, real strategy and teamwork, they completed this quest in one minute thirty one seconds. Pretty impressive.
