Originally released in May 2011, Archie Comics’ Mega Man #1 will now be part of the official Free Comic Book Day alongside other heavy hitters like The Avengers, Transformers and Adventure Time. If you’ve missed the series up to this point, a FREE issue sounds like the perfect incentive to hop aboard. Check your local shops on May 5, 2012 for Mega Man #1, and then if you’re like me, run at top speed to a theater to see The Avengers.

If you can’t wait that long, there’s no time like the present to get caught up on the issues released so far. The current storyline (beginning in Mega Man #9 , which ships in January) kicks off the Mega Man 2 arc, where Dr Wily returns with eight new Robot Masters – in fact, the cover shows Wily putting the finishing touches on Quick Man.
