Looking for other hunters? Here are a couple of options

May 02, 2013 // Yuri Araujo

Finding a hunting party is not always the easiest thing out there… Sometimes you go online hoping some people can help you with “Streaking with Bullfangos” (you know, to get that awesome Gunlance ), but all you find are G-Rank hunter powering through “Cruel King of the Sea” ( for the other awesome Gunlance ).

Or maybe you’re just looking to find other hunters in your local area for some questing, whether it be on Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (3DS) or any of the  Monster Hunter Freedom  games (PSP). In any case, here are some tools and tips to help you find each other!

Warning: this blog post is full of links. Click them all!

Capcom Unity Forums and Activities

First of all, to help out the portable hunter, we opened up a whole new forum section dedicated just to finding other local  Monster Hunter  fans. The name?  Local Hunter Search (very fitting, right?). And there’s the link:  www.capcom-unity.com/monster_hunter/go/f…

Just read up on the rules and recommendations before you post a thread and start looking for other hunting pals! And whenever possible, remember to Tweet out a link to your thread to our Twitter accounts with the hashtag #LocalHunterSearch and we’ll gladly Retweet them. =)

As for the online hunters, remember the usual Unity location –  Help D, Lobby 10 – where there’s always a chance you’ll run into other Capcom Unity members as well as staff ( Brelston , Chris , Sven and I have been hunting a lot lately). On top of that, we have our weekly MH streams on Mondays:  Monster Hunter Mondays !

Club Teamwork’s Hunting Parties

If you haven’t checked out Teamwork’s Hunting Parties tool, please do. It’s sort of like a forum, but you start Hunting Parties instead of threads, and you can specify the game, time and location, which helps a lot in finding exactly what you’re looking for. There’s even a “join” function that works like an RSVP and helps in letting you know if the hunting party is full or not.

Like I said, you can specify the party by game, so here are some relevant links:

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate  ( NA and Europe , though I’m not sure why they’re separate) =P

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite

Club 1kJho’s Gathering Pub

And sticking to the tried-and-true formula we have 1kJho’s Gathering Pub forums. A quick browse through this section will reveal a very active forum where you can find other hunters with common interests and targets.

They also have some pretty cool streams over at  www.twitch.tv/club1kjho , including the weekly ( confirmed Girls Night Out !

Monster Hunter Meetup Subreddit

If you’re familiar with the Reddit and Subreddit ways, then you’ll feel right at home with the Monster Hunter Meetup Subreddit. They’ve also got some useful links to other awesome forums, like ours. Funny how this loop works, right?

Anyways… as you can see, there a number of options and tools you should explore when looking to hunt some monsters with other people. But remember that only here at Capcom Unity you get points that you can spend on tickets to daily game raffles … and we have awesome badges ! 😉
