Game Informer Super Replay of Legends 2 coming soon

::Edit:: Whoops! Looks like my initial post got cut off somehow. Read on!
Major games press outlet Game Informer puts out a great monthly magazine that, chances are, you’ve at least read before if not subscribed. Did you know they also run an excellent website with daily news, blogs, community activity, and heaps upon heaps of video content? Of particular note are their “super replays,” wherein Game Informer staff play through games of the past, providing hilarious and/or poignant and/or irreverent commentary, all with greater production than what you’d get from a livestream.
Last month, the GI guys were kind enough to have me on as a guest for the recording of their super replay of Mega Man Legends 2. The videos will be going live in episodic format, as is their tradition, starting 9/27, but they’ve already released a preview video to get you in the mood.
This may all have you scratching your head in light of the unfortunate fate of the game’s would-be successor, so I’ll give a little background.
This feature was originally proposed by Game Informer some months ago in knowledge that Mega Man’s 25th anniversary is coming up at the end of this year. It’s just one little way they wanted to celebrate their appreciation for Mega Man, and they were nice enough to invite me to join them as someone familiar with the series. It’s also based on the fact that last year, when they did a MML1 superplay, the timing overlapped with Unity’s livestreams ( here’s my personal fave ), so they figured it just made more sense to do a collaboration for MML2.
Anyway, I hope that everybody will be able to watch these videos and laugh, reminisce, and enjoy themselves as much as we did recording them. Meanwhile, we at Capcom are still meeting frequently to discuss our own plans for MM25, which will kick off in December.
Oh yeah! We’ve also got our Mega Man 9 stream coming on Thursday, with Brelston at the helm. Will he fare better than I did in MM8? All signs point to “probably.”
