As a special treat to the robot master fan art contest participants (and Mega Man fans!), I got in touch with the Mega Man 10 team in Japan and asked if they could also pick their favorites for the weekly Robot Master fan art contest. Due to the time difference and translation process, they have just started for the week of Blade Man. Mega Man 10 assistant producer Akiko Ito has prepared a special message for US fans (special thanks to our very own Gosei Mori for translating!):

Konichiwa! I am the assistant producer for Mega Man 10 from Capcom Japan and I knew that this boss design contest was being held on Capcom Unity and once it started I was shocked because everybody has been really motivated, unique, and talented and all you fans show a lot of love for Mega Man!

Every week I can’t wait to read jgonzo’s latest robot master fan art blog post (I actually assembled and played with Speedbrkr’s and Drew’s Sheep Man papercrafts). Jgonzo asked us to comment on the contest and I was really excited about it! Right after this idea was brought up, I talked to Tsuru-san (director MM10) and Takeshita-san (producer MM10) and we agreed to participate with our commentary.

Hironobu Takeshita – Producer MM10:

AWD!’s piece looks cool! The night time setting, moon background, and castle work really well! I really like the cape that AWD! added. I get the sense, from this piece, that this Blade Man likes to talk a lot but when the time comes, he’s pretty decisive.

Hayato Tsuru – Director MM10:

I like the juxtaposition of Roll and Blade Man: cute and serious. I didn’t miss the little detail that Blade Man is holding another pair of scissors in his blade hand

I feel the love coming from kirbygirl based on all the details on the background wall.

Thank you, and it would be better if your screen name was megagirl instead of kirbygirl !

Akiko Ito – Assistant Producer MM10:

( jgonzo’s note: Ito-san didn’t understand Eric’s joke, as you will read below. I have explained it to her translator who will relay the info to her. She’s in for a bit of a laugh 😉  )

Why?! I don’t understand why Blade Man is standing right in front of the bathroom but I like the creative idea. I like it because it’s bizarre. Also I like it because the Blade Man looks cute and calm. One thing that’s going to be a problem for this Blade Man is that his head is too tall to get into the restroom, how will he fit?!

I really think that Eric’s piece is very cute.
