“Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader 2009” Hits iPhones

Sep 02, 2008 // s-kill

Sure you *look* smart with that iPhone, but are you really?

For anyone that hasn’t played it already, “5th Grader” is the most fun I’ve had with a trivia game since Quiz and Dragons .  If you’ ve had control, etc. problems with mobile games before you’ll have no worries here–this one keeps a laser focus on the fun and its special brand of “this should be easy but now I’m not so sure!” questions.

For anyone that has played before, the 2009 edition means all new material and a visual makeover.  It’s still funny with a good mix of challenge, humor, and Foxworthy! Also note that this 2009 edition means you’re that much OLDER than a 5th grader, so you have that much less of an excuse to not be outsmarting them.

You can pick up the new version right now at the itunes appstore .

CAPCOM® INTERACTIVE ANNOUNCES HIT MOBILE GAME “ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?(TM) 2009”
NOW AVAILABLE FROM APPLE APP STORE

LOS ANGELES – September 2, 2008– Capcom® Interactive, Inc., a leading developer and publisher of mobile games, and Fox Mobile Entertainment today announced the release of its hit mobile franchise, “ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?,” for iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod touch on the Apple App Store.  Built from the ground up to take advantage of the breakthrough innovations in the iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod touch, “ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER? 2009” sports a complete visual makeover, engaging gameplay and completely new animations.

“Capcom Interactive is thrilled to be bringing the ‘ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?’ franchise to iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod touch,” said Midori Yuasa, president, Capcom Interactive, Inc. “Players will love the exciting gameplay we’ve been able to create with the technology in these devices and we’re certain this version of the game will entertain and delight.”

Based on the hit primetime game show on FOX, “ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER? 2009” for the iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod touch features all the charm, humor and deceptively difficult questions that made the television show a household name.  In the game, players are asked a series of up to eleven questions ranging from subjects like U.S. history, math or social studies.  Perform well, and you can work you way to the $1 million question… choke and you’ll be forced to utter the unenviable phrase “I’m not smarter than a 5th grader.”

“ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER? 2009” for the iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod touch is now available for $9.99 from Apple’s App Store on iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore/

ABOUT ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?(TM) Acclaimed comedian Jeff Foxworthy is at the head of the class as host of this hit game show from Mark Burnett Productions, which measures adults’ knowledge, or lack thereof – as revealed by how much they’ve forgotten since grammar school.  Adult contestants find themselves revisiting their youth in a classroom setting, tackling subjects they’ve already been taught – from art to geography and math to social studies. When test questions derived from actual grade school curriculum prove to be too challenging, contestants are not alone; there is a way to “cheat” in this classroom. Adults can get some elementary help by “peeking” or “copying” off of or being “saved” by their 5th grade “classmates” to help them graduate toward the top prize of $1 million.
