All three of these games still have healthy tournament scenes even to this day. Specifically for Super Street Fighter II Turbo, that’s over 14 years later! If you’ve been waiting to prove yourself on a big stage, now is the time to do so! Or, if you’re new to these games and want to make a name for yourself, pick up Street Fighter 30 th Anniversary Collection on May 29 and hit the lab. Whether you’re a veteran or a new player, you’ll definitely want to practice in Training Mode, which will be available as part of the day-one patch in all three of the games that are featured in this tournament series.
If you’d rather train against other players, no need to leave your home! Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Street Fighter III: Third Strike all have online play where you can create lobbies and play in ranked and casual matches. Use this feature along with Training Mode to build yourself up to become one of the champions in the Street Fighter 30 th Anniversary Tournament Series! For more information on Training Mode, head to our announcement here.
Each of these tournaments will be played on Street Fighter 30 th Anniversary Collection. The Dramatic Battle and Fight for the Future will be double-elimination with the first to two moving on until top 8, where it becomes first to three. On the other hand, the entirety of the Grand Master Challenge will be first to three. Due to his status as an overwhelmingly-strong character, Akuma is banned from the Super Street Fighter II Turbo tournament during the Grand Master Challenge at CEO 2018. In Street Fighter Alpha 3, only the three standard ISMs are allowed (A-ism, X-ism, V-ism).
Although each of these tournaments takes place at a Premier Event on the Capcom Pro Tour 2018, they will not count for any points and are not officially part of the CPT. Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition continues to be the main focus, so feel free to enter in both games!
We’ll see you at CEO 2018, SoCal Regionals 2018, and Canada Cup 2018! Street Fighter 30 th Anniversary Collection will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam on May 29!
